Go on then I'll try again......
If the "chemtrails" reflect heat (infra red I assume) do they not reflect it BOTH WAYS? All of the heat we are buisy generating on the ground would be reflected back down from the trail!
Or am I missing something here ......... I realy do hope so 'cause I would love it to be true! Honest!

Just ten years ago, I saw a modern skywriter while I was out fishing. Instead of a steady stream of smoke, it laid out a line of puffs at a time, sort of like a dot matrix printer. More efficient, perhaps, but less aerobatic and entertaining. It was advertising Con Air. The movie, not the hair products company.

It wasn't just in your town or in the south that skywriters wrote Drink Pepsi Cola on the wild blue yonder. Growing up in Oregon in the 40s we watched them too.

well dang, when i was a kid those two winged jobs(called bi-planes) were the best sky writers in the world!
one of the great things they would do,is write the word PEPSI COLA, in the sky!
us kids would lie on our backs on the banks of our back yard and watch these sky writers do their stuff!
it was so neat,too!
since Winston-Salem,N.C., was the home of PEPSI COLA,the compoany would pay these air devils to write PEPSI COLA in the sky, over the town!
the sky wass always so blue(unless it was raining or coming up a cloud or storm)and to wath the sky writers, was the part of being a kid and growing up in this great portion of the SOUTH!
yes,the sky was so blue, then.....

I had a fascination for jet trails when I was a kid, late fifties early sixties, because we saw very few jets going over. Donuel, you say: "con trails dissipate in seconds or minutes.", but that isn't true, they can linger for hours, depending on atmospheric conditions - I remember the effect from childhood, of the slowly spreading stripe on a clear blue sky, long after the plane was gone. Even if what you say is really occurring, I seriously doubt single Canadian jets over Cape Breton were performing these experiments in that era.

con trails dissipate in seconds or minutes.

chem trails do not dissipate - just just keep growing wider.

I also taped the sky here on 9-12-2001 when the chem trails were sprayed at low altitude which effectively made a smoke screen which limited visibility for any planes

but there were no commercial flights that day since all flights were canceled.

Stream of consciousness: this thread made me think of my uncle, who worked to develop cloud seeding with Bernie Vonnegut and a couple of others, and I remembered I had a picture of Bernie (taken by said uncle) as a young man with his son and Googled him. Sent a query to a guy who had a memorial page for him. Found another interesting page on Cloud Physicist/Meteorologist Robert M. Cunningham, in which he writes,
I also recall a meeting in Washington on what the federal government should be doing in the weather modification field (also in the 60's?). This was an informal meeting of about 6 people including science administrators and scientists, principally from the defense science branches and the National Science Foundation. I was surprised when Dr Edward Teller walked into the room. He was invited just because he was interested in weather modification; perhaps he was looking for an area that could explode with world interest as had his previous project. I was, however, disappointed with what he said; he followed Langmuir's belief that simply burning a torch with a silver iodide solution in the fuel could change the whole world's weather. He had no appreciation of the vastly different scale over which weather systems occur.
So Teller vastly overestimated the effect a small-scale activity could have on the environment. It seems to me this thread does the same. Even if those planes were engaged in spraying stuff and weren't just going about their mundane business, it's one geographically small city on a globe full of mostly empty sky.

Sure. The EPA has set the limit at 2 ppm for barium. A read of this site --presumably done by people who have the qualification you seem to want--will answer the question about barium. There are articles about amounts more than 2 ppm being sprayed, and if you google that, I expect you'll be of the opinion that the newspapers are in on it, too. Amounts four times greater than 2 ppm having been measured.

The aluminum oxide will have to await another post. However, the whole tone of your posts indicates taht you don't rally give a shit about facts, because you're mind is made up already.

Oh dear, Donuel.

Thomas the Rhymer's suggestion that you go out and buy a tin foil hat is a good one. I'd really suggest reading this first mind.

Peace,

Both barium and aluminum oxide in high quantities are detrimental to human health. If the reports are correct, the amounts that were/are being sprayed are too high.

Are you a biochemist? Kindly define (with academic references) what quantaties are being sprayed and what is considered to be reasonable levels and why.

Reasonable enough question, I think.

If your question is asked in reverse it makes sense to me.

wind effects content.

Heavy Barium salts start to fall with the wind in a clump like fashion while at the same time it stimulates the formation of additional water vapor clouds. The jagged edge soon spreads out over a vast area rendering that area of the sky a milky blue instead of a clear sky.

8AM on clear windless mornings are the ideal times for spraying.

If the trails are to reduce warming, but they don't want us to know, why not do it over the oceans instead of over DC?
And if they are medication, but they don't want us to know, why not do it when it is cloudy, or at night?

Edward Teller was suggesting that aluminum oxide sprayed in the atmosphere could block sufficient sunlight so as to lower temperatures by a few degrees to aid the 'fight' against global warming. The drawback was ozone depletion.

"SO far the chemtrail spray program has lowered heat levels temporarily by 10 %."
O.K.
Basic maths here.... if the "chemtrail" reflected 100% of the heat to get a 10% Reduction in heating effect (from solar radiation) the trails would have to cover 10% of the globe! Point 1
If the "chemtrail" was completely reflective to IR it would bounce the heat back down and thus cause the heat to be reabsorbed into the atmosphere instead of being reflected into space! Point 2
If souch a reflective material were available it would be painted on the airforce jets to aid camoflage. It isn't so "they" probably do not have it yet. Point3
Need I continue? I like the idea of conspiracy theory though .... self fulfilling prophercy!

"CONGRESSIONAL BILL CALLS FOR CHEMTRAILS BAN

HR2977 is creating a 'buzz in the Air Traffic Control community. Introduced last October by Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich, this bill called for the peaceful uses of space, and a ban on 'exotic weapons' . Section 7 of the 'Space Preservation Act of 2001' sought specifically to prohibit 'chemtrails' .

Kucinich recently told the Columbus Alive newspaper (Jan. 24, 2002) that despite official denials, as head of the Armed Services oversight committee he is well acquainted with chemtrail projects. "The truth is there's an entire program in the Department of Defense - 'Vision for 2020' - that's developing these weapons, Kucinich told reporter Bob Fitrakis. The U.S. Space Command's 2020 vision calls for 'dominance of space, land, sea and air'.

Though "section vii" naming chemtrails, HAARP and other planet-threatening weapons has since been removed in a substitute bill - under pressure according to Kucinich - the original bill remains intact and on-file in the congressional record."

Don't be so supercilious. Because it doesn't compute to you does not mean it doesn't compute to someone, and it obviously did to government. Read HR 2977. Who the fuck said anything evil was in the chemtrails? Piss off with your attitude.

Subject: RE: BS: DC sky today

And how does a single test performed 10 years ago indicate that the government is putting evil chemicals into our air today? Where everybody, including the government, will be exposed to them? Sorry, it does not compute. Besides, if you follow the link I gave, it refers to the chemtrail claims and mentions the test. Old news. You will see that contrail behavior is not consistent, but depends on upper atmosphere wind patterns. There are a lot of them around Washington, because there is a lot of air traffic here. Jeez. Sleep with a nightlight.

By the way, contrails are composed of ice crystals, which do not evaporate.

Nope. You aren't. The subject was brought up by one of your congressmen. See

Space Preservation Act of 2001 (Introduced in the House)

HR 2977 IH

107th CONGRESS

1st Session

H. R. 2977

The bill uses the term Chemtrail. For something that don't exist (or is conspiracy theory), someone sure as hell thought it was worthy of mention.
