Mom e-mailed me with this story today, which she says the local news is having great fun with. A South Charleston cop pulled over a drunk driver and took him into the station for booking. While being fingerprinted, the guy moved over real close to the cop and let rip a prize winner. The police man added Battery to an Officer to the DUI charge!

My Dad's comment was this, "It's the police officer's fault. He was pulling the guy's finger."

When I was a boy, if the police pulled you in to the jail for breaking the law and you were disrispectful (not the gas, the disrespect... watch and read), you did not get charged... you got two days of staying awake with buckets of hot and cold water chucked on you. That pussy needs the shit kicked out of him.

They dropped the battery charge the cop filed.

We were always respectful towards cops. They knew our parents, and the cops knew that our parents would beat the shit out of us and save the cops the trouble. Besides, we were related to a lot of the cops -- definitely not smart to mouth off to your Uncle or Aunt!

There's no question the drunk was disorderly and beyond obnoxious. I can understand the anger and digust the officer probably felt, but he let those feelings interfer with better judgement in charging the SOB with battery.

Actually, I was wondering if Mr. Cruz was either a Legionaire, or had taken private lessons from Shane:>)

A drunken fart can happen to anyone... even more likely than a sober fart - of which I have experience.... whilst shopping yesterday, there were some real problems with two-tones - you know, when you can feel it and clench to try and prevent but it sneaks out in that little far-perp way.... I had to keep pretending to smack my lips or make popping noises all the way through the cold meat section.

I blame the pizza we had Thursday evening.
