Subject: Woodie Guthrie Novel 'House of Earth' From: EBarnacle Date: 17 Feb 13 - 01:24 AM The various Woody Guthrie archives continue to yield new material. This book was apparently the only novel that Woody wrote. For various reasons mentioned in the intro, it was almost lost. Having read through the first chapter so far, it is not great literature. That said, it is definitely readable but would probably not have been publishable in his lifetime by a major publisher. I don't know how large the print run is but the first printing, first edition is currently available in hardcover at Barnes and Noble with cover art by Woody. |
