Subject: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Bert Date: 18 Feb 13 - 09:55 PM life with a character from the Harry Potter films, who would it be? My choice is Luna Lovegood. Tree's choice is Hagrid. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Joe Offer Date: 18 Feb 13 - 10:14 PM Emma Watson as Hermione has grown to be a beautiful young woman, but I think her obsessive-compulsive personality would drive me crazy in short order. I could spend the rest of my life with Ginny Weasley, though. Ginny is bright, both passionate and compassionate, and just a fun person to be with. I married Hermione, however, and it has been an interesting and wonderful and crazy eleven years.... -Joe- |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Bert Date: 18 Feb 13 - 10:18 PM My best friend Syd had a sister who was just like Ginny, but was not my type. His other sister though was something of a rebel and I could have gone or her. But it was never to be. |

Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Bert Date: 19 Feb 13 - 12:16 PM It is supposed to be a fun question LH, They are great books and even the movies aren't too bad. Maybe we should choose for you, perhaps Grawp might suit you:-) |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 19 Feb 13 - 02:05 PM Rather like the game where you discuss who you'd eat first in a lifeboat or chuck out of a balloon which needed lightening. But thinking positive rather than negative. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: jacqui.c Date: 19 Feb 13 - 02:55 PM I think this is a nice thread - a lot less likely, I thought, to engender negativity and with scope for a lot of fun and to also get a bit of an insight into Mudcatters, based on their choices. Guess you can't please everyone but I would point out that, if it isn't to your taste you can just not open it more than once. That is what I now do and why I tend to lurk, rather than get involved in a lot of the contentious stuff to be found on the 'Cat. |

Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Little Hawk Date: 20 Feb 13 - 05:00 PM With. Catsuits can be removed, after all, and they look great while they're still on, so why not have them as an option? |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Bert Date: 20 Feb 13 - 05:19 PM If you don't like this thread then start one of your own that you do like. Then I will come along and make snide comments on your thread. If you don't like Harry Potter then, you are not obliged to choose a character. This is just for fun and participation is not compulsory. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: gnu Date: 20 Feb 13 - 05:27 PM "... so why not have them as an option?" Seems only logical and good sense. Maybe froggy just has a fetish he can't wait to gnaw on? Bert... I thought I did make a "fun" post. I thought it was funny. YMMV. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: frogprince Date: 20 Feb 13 - 06:24 PM Oh, I really got nothin' against the catsuit. Truth be, the way she looked in the suit had everything to do with why I would have gnawed it off of her if I had to in order to see her without it. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 20 Feb 13 - 09:44 PM Surprised nobody has picked the redoubtable Professor Magonagall. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Amos Date: 20 Feb 13 - 10:58 PM I am surprised that Little Haw, with his robust passion for breeding imaginary characters, should disdain a thread calling on imaginary characters. What sort of spiritual NIMBYist are you, sir? A |

Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: jacqui.c Date: 21 Feb 13 - 07:56 AM I think Macgonagal is great (Maggie did an amazing interview on 60 minutes the other night) but I'm really not sure I would want to spend the rest of my life with Miss Jean Brodie - just a touch too scary for my liking. I must admit, for me, that Snape would be runner up to Syrius. Alan Rickman - Mmmmmmmmmmm......... |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: GUEST,SINS Date: 21 Feb 13 - 08:39 AM Still Hagrid. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Little Hawk Date: 21 Feb 13 - 09:00 AM It's not that I disdain imaginary characters on principle, Amos. I don't. I just don't know how to make a decision about a group of imaginary characters in whom I have little or no interest, that's all. I have seen a couple of the movies...and I found them enjoyable...but not terribly memorable. I haven't read any of the books. If I had read the books, then I'd probably have more interest in the whole concept of Harry Potter, I suppose. But I haven't. And I probably won't. And that's really all there is to it. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: GUEST,sciencegeek Date: 21 Feb 13 - 12:18 PM I'd have to say that Neville would be the best fit for me... a geek with grit... :) Snape's just a little too damaged and besides, he'd only be happy with Lily. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Bert Date: 21 Feb 13 - 02:23 PM Not having read the Harry Potter books is kinda like not having read Tom Sawyer. The books are better than the movies, you should give them a try. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Little Hawk Date: 21 Feb 13 - 02:25 PM Well, I might if they're that good. Tom Sawyer is a marvelous book. I have to assume that the Harry Potter books are pretty good too, given their huge popularity, so I may get around to reading them at some point. |
Subject: RE: BS: If you had to spend the rest of your... From: Bert Date: 22 Feb 13 - 01:06 PM We only started reading them because everyone else was doing it and we didn't want to be out of the loop. Also we have grandchildren and they wouldn't grow up not reading them. Some of the books are better than the others (of course) but I won't say which ones I prefer as it might spoil your enjoyment of them. We finally bought the movie set on Blue Ray because we had lost one of the DVDs and rather than replace it and then buy the latest couple, it made sense to buy the set. What we didn't realize at the time was that we could also use the Blue Ray player for Netflix which gives us access to thousands of movies and TV shows for a reasonable monthly fee. I know that some people don't like TV, but it was a real boon when Tree was bedridden for a few months. |

There are worse people than Archie Aymslowe to hang out with. |
