Subject: once had me a cowboy..... From: GUEST,goldkoin Date: 27 Sep 00 - 08:37 PM Someone save my poor brain! I have a song zipping around in my brian and it won't go away. I cannot think of the title, or the artist. (I know i know) The lyrics are unique I believe though so maybe someone can figure out this song. The song is in the folk/country category, and have heard it done by local tennessee bands at religious events. Lyrics: Starts of with "I once had me a cowboy......." and has the phrase, if thunder were ??????, and lightning were desire, this old house would have burned down a long time ago." That is the best I can do ladies and gents. The recored versions I have heard were mostly acoutic instruments only with female voclas. Possibly kitty wells? Or Joni Mitchel? Also heard a version with a duet (male and female). Sounded like Bob Dylan and perhaps joan baez or joplin. Please help me. Email address is goldkoin@yahoo.com

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: once had me a cowboy..... From: campfire Date: 27 Sep 00 - 11:09 PM That's from Angel from Montgomery, written by John Prine and also made popular by Bonnie Raitt. I'll find the full lyrics and put up a clicky thing ASAP. campfire |
