Matt:
I just got an email from Janet. She is ok but shaken ...
I was really worried. As you may know she is engaged to get married. Rejoice!
I was not at the Pentagon by the way ...
Cheers,
Brian

Hi,

Thank you all. Long time since I checked Mudcat! I am ok, home in Brooklyn, trying to catch up with much work and many people here and in D.C., also my home. Crying. But ok.

Will keep looking for Darren and hoping for my dear Alison, and for many others.

Love to everyone,

Ken Schatz

Susan A-R, as far as I know bbc is still up north, not far from where Sandy and Caroline Paton live. Although we've not heard from her, I would think they are okay.

Me and my boss, we could never agree,
What was right for him was wrong for me,
But when a burglar busts into your house,
You stop fighting with the landlord 'til you toss him out!

From DELIVER THE GOODS
by Pete Seeger and the Almanac Singers

You might think I'm a pacifist,
Bring them home, bring them home!
But there's one thing I must confess,
Bring them home, bring them home!
If someone invaded this land of mine,
Bring them home, bring them home!
You'd find me out on the firing line,
Bring them home, bring them home!

From BRING THEM HOME
by Pete Seeger

Just a reminder!

--- Steve

Steve, thank you for the names above. I was trying to find an e-mail address for Alaric ... who I know as a Welsh learner (there can only be one!) and it's a great relief to know that he's OK.

Mudcat triumphs once again!

My thoughts are with all of you especially those I met while I was over last year and this year at Sidmouth. I'm so glad to see so many familiar names on the "safe" list. My heart goes out to Alison, please give her my love and I hope darren is found safe and well.

Duane D. & I are fine, but our ISP has been knocked out by the devastation in NYC. Anyone sending me email will not get through, since I am blocked at work from receiving it.

best to all from a very sad bbc

Thanks for the info about Janet, Wotcha. Yes, I finally tracked her down and spoke to her.

By the way, this site is useful for finding people in the hospitals

Matthew, that link's page says to go back a page and enter a last name. When I tried different combos of the addy, I couldn't get it to work.

The New York Post and Fox TV, along with AOL, I think, have a website for listing a missing person's name. It si alphabetised and can be viewed, as well as one may neter a name. Some have been facetious, but the majority are heart-wrenching. I did not see Darren's name listed, so it might be a good idea for someone who knows all of his info to enter his name there. Just go to New York Post and scroll down the page to the middle where there is a small banner about missing persons. There you choose, View or Enter a Name.

Also, there is an interesting article about how people are using the web to search for loved ones, and it has some sites listed as well: LA Times

Holding good thoughts for all.

Bonnie and I are okay.

On an ordinary day, we would walk to Bonnie's job a few blocks north of the World Trade Center. Last Monday, she followed a whim that took her 200 away from the city.

Last Monday, I was in Bremen. One day, two aircraft mechanical delays and an emergency landing later, I was crossing the USA - Canada border enroute to New York. The plane was diverted to Boston.

Two days later, we've finally arrived in Manhattan. Crossing the river, the absence of those two tall towers made this a "Naked City," the title of an old tv show about NYC.

All of this will take a great deal of time to sink in.

Dan
