Subject: FSGW Getaway - Bring CDs and Crafts! From: Ferrara Date: 29 Sep 02 - 10:10 PM Last year at the Getaway, we designated the room between the Dining Hall and the TV Room as our Music-and-Craft Marketplace. We liked it so much that we're declaring it a tradition, :-) which is to say we're going to try it again this year. So, if you have a CD for sale, or crafts you'd like to bring, and you feel comfortable leaving them out all weekend on the honor system, give it a try. Last year, crafts were set up in various spots with prices, people located the seller some time during the weekend to make a purchase. If you need light for your work to show up well, you'll need a light and a long heavy duty extension cord. We haven't studied the situation, electricity wise, but will try to arrange something. Make a sign with your name (and Mudcat name), prices, what the craft is (CD's are sort of obvious) etc. Locations are pretty much first come, first served, except that if Camsco comes, or if anyone brings any of Folk Legacy's stock for sale, they should have their usual space because they bring so darned much stuff it's hard to know where else to put them :-) If you decide to bring something, let us know on this thread or e-mail getaway@fsgw.org. I believe Susan Friedman and Dick Greenhaus will bring a lot of CD's from Camsco Music, although Dick can't get to the Getaway until Sunday because he's giving a talk on folk music databases on Saturday -- in Rochester. Dick, Susan, will you have music for sale? And, we will have various goodies in our Silent Auction as usual. Hope to see lots of you in October, Rita |

Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway - Bring CDs and Crafts! From: Susan of DT Date: 30 Sep 02 - 07:55 PM I'll be bringing the Camsco CDs on Friday so you will have lots of time to browse the CDs. Dick won't get there until late Saturday/early Sunday so you may have to save the more exotic questions until he gets there. We may or may not have Folk Legacy CDs, but certainly not in great quantity. |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway - Bring CDs and Crafts! From: Ferrara Date: 02 Oct 02 - 11:27 AM We'll have about 20 copies of Jed Marum's new CD if it's ready in time. Proceeds from sale of the first 10 copies will benefit the FSGW Getaway scholarship fund, all proceeds after that go to Jed -- maybe he can use them to get to next year's Getaway. :-) We will also have Jed's first CD, "Streets of Fall River." Good stuff, both of them. And at a good price.... |
