Subject: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: Bill D Date: 16 Oct 02 - 11:17 AM There have, as always, been some altertions and updates to the schedule grid as we learned of people's need to leave early Sunday..etc.... The changes were 'up' last night, but we had a power failure just before starting THIS thread...so.... check here ALMOST TOTALLY FINAL SCHEDULE!! This has to be printed tomorrow, so if you see ANYTHING which is impossible, wrong or REALLY wierd (not just disappointing..) let Rita know immmediately! |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: Bill D Date: 16 Oct 02 - 11:22 AM Rita will check this thread, add to my comments, and watch email, PMs and telephone today......She worked pretty late last night trying to juggle all this ..*grin*...I'm glad it wasn't ME trying to make it all work! |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: Ferrara Date: 16 Oct 02 - 11:43 AM Well, talk about bad luck and good luck! The good luck was that I finished putting up the revised schedule about 60 seconds BEFORE the power dropped for the whole neighborhood. The bad luck was that I couldn't tell anybody it was ready for review.... Nancy King has again offered to come over this evening and help with any final changes, and we'll be looking for "conflicts of content" as well as stuff that's really "wrong." So please don't hesitate to say -- "Yeah, but now you've put X opposite Y and I wanted to go to both of 'em!" -- This kind of change doesn't have as high priority as, say, not putting the same person in two workshops at the same time.... But if something makes you unhappy, it may be a problem for other folks too and we'd like to have it brought to our notice. I won't have to have the whole thing in concrete until about noon tomorrow (how's that for the last minute?) so holler if you aren't satisfied. As usual, we'll change it if it's necessary, OR if we think your request is a good idea and it ain't too hard to do.... Rita |

Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: Ferrara Date: 16 Oct 02 - 11:52 PM Well, again thanks are owed to Nancy King. She and I just spent at least 3 hours reworking the schedule... Same link That's it, folks, I don't have the energy to change anything else except maybe would be willing to fix any remaining misspelled names if you get to me before it goes to the printers.... Well I do think the extra effort was worth it in order to make the schedule as rewarding as possible for as many people as possible. Rita |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: Ferrara Date: 16 Oct 02 - 11:53 PM ps If you can't get it to print, check the suggstions I wrote in the other Getaway thread. Might help.... Rita |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: Jeri Date: 17 Oct 02 - 09:47 AM Rita & Nancy - MAAAAAHvelous! There are very few conflicts for me compared to previous editions. Never gonna completely eliminate conflicts, but my opinion is that this schedule's about as good as it gets. I still think Ramblewood ought to pay the Escher Construction Company (band name?) to remodel that ****ing hill! ThankYOU |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: Tinker Date: 17 Oct 02 - 05:24 PM I'm voting with Jeri... third time is definately the charm for getting my eclectic taste spread smoothly around the schedule. THANKS!! Kathy |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: Bill D Date: 17 Oct 02 - 07:41 PM yup...it's like writing, you put something on paper so it's easy to see what to object to.....trial ballons, as it were. (lordy, I wish it could all be done earlier, though!...*whew*) next year we **NEED** earlier committments and ideas, so whoever does this knows who's coming and what thay can do. Like them Jivaro indians, plan a head! |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: MMario Date: 17 Oct 02 - 07:55 PM Bill you deserve a good *thwap* for the pun - *grin* |

Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: Ferrara Date: 18 Oct 02 - 09:39 AM WYSIWYG, are you coming next year? Excellent. Offer duly noted, we've never had one on spirituals and I believe it would be appreciated. See the rest of you tonight or tomorrow. |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway schedule-changes! From: wysiwyg Date: 18 Oct 02 - 09:59 AM I have a firm intention to be there next year, and unless the date chosen coincides with a family emergency or a Bishop's imperative, I'll be there. The info about accessibility for mobility-impaired folks made the difference for me. I was so discouraged upon hearing Mmario's report on the terrain last year that I never considered checking dates before we scheduled an important thing here-- just as well, tho, since it turns out our son is arriving tomorrow for his first leave back home since graduating from Basic Training almost 4 years ago. Every time he's tried to get away, the Navy has gone into a lockdown or refit-schedule burp. As far as your schedule changes go-- hey, move this year's Getaway over a week, so I can come! *G* Can't you drug everyone so they stay till I get there? Let the air out of the tires? I could also do a workshop on "Growing a Folk Community From Seed." Of course your FSGW people have no need of that one-- but the traveling 'Catters might. If there were sufficient advance interest, we could have a "report & personal planning" session on that. ~Susan |
