Subject: Seeking Bob Coltman From: Mudlark Date: 25 Oct 02 - 03:58 PM One of the songs I sent Amos, and the one he is going to use, is my version of Wait Till the Clouds Roll By. I assumed it was traditional--it is, but I've just come across an old lyrics insert from a Cathy Barton/Dave Para tape that says that tho the song is Public Domain, one verse was written (and copywritten) by Bob Coltman. I'd forgotten where I learned this lovely old tune, but it must have been from this recording, as the words listed are (largely) what I sing. I cant find a website for Coltman...does anyone know how I can contact him to ask his permission to include his verse for the Mudcat CD? Any help appreciated. Nancy

Subject: RE: Seeking Bob Coltman From: Rick Fielding Date: 25 Oct 02 - 09:58 PM Hi Ken. Are you as big a fan of his as I am? My god the man writes well. I sing about eight of his songs. Almost met him a few years ago but he had a cold and we called it off. Had a great phonecall with him though. Rick (Humming "Devil in the Garden") |
Subject: RE: Seeking Bob Coltman From: Mudlark Date: 25 Oct 02 - 10:03 PM Thanks for the info, I'll call him tomorrow. Not only a great songwriter, but a great arranger as well. I was so glad to come across his name, partly to make sure it's OK to use his verse and to give him credit, but also to be reminded about him....noticed one of his reviews said he was the NE's best kept secret... |
