Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: Amos Date: 24 Aug 06 - 01:56 PM Let it so be written, let it so be done: Janie and Alba will join me on the First High Chocolate Bench to determine the qualities and merits of all chocolate contestants, or ordinary contestants temporarily dipped in chocolate for the purposes of the judges. Hmmmm. If the Chief Judge is tardy in making an appearance, the two Judges shall proceed to begin tasting contestants. Lacking contestants, they may turn on each other. The CHief Judge will not participate in any judging involving salmon, however. A |

Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: GUEST,Janie Date: 05 Oct 06 - 11:56 AM Fill in the blank. I am bringing_________ to place in the Silent Auction to raise funds for Getaway scholarships. I am determined to place the winning bid on some amazing and wondrous little (or big) treasure that I find at the auction. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: My guru always said Date: 06 Oct 06 - 04:36 AM Despite being SO jealous of all you Cats getting to go to the Getaway, I have managed to scan almost all of the threads without going Green and Exploding. At this point I have to point out to the Chocolate providers and Judges that Chocolate covered Celery was first created for our UK MudGathers a couple of years ago, closely followed by the renowned Chocolate covered Chillies. They have both become a firm favourite at Festival MudGathers here in the UK. But Chocolate covered Salmon? Now there's an idea.... Thanks!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: SINSULL Date: 06 Oct 06 - 01:15 PM The Battery Operated costumes for Saturday's performance will be on sale at the auction for $10 with 50% going to FSGW. These retail for $20+ and are a must have for anyone willing to look ridiculous. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: Janie Date: 06 Oct 06 - 01:21 PM In my case, Sins, there is no "willing" to it. I just do! Janie |
Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: Barry Finn Date: 06 Oct 06 - 01:30 PM Mary, I'm afraid. What are the costumes operating on & why do they need batteries? I do not trust!!!! I need to know, I'm driving with you & I'm not touching the steering wheel if all you gals are gonna be in what I imagine to be outfits that will take over your self control (as if any of you had any) & cause mass destruction on the freeways. Being the only male with balls, who's also got no self control, on this journey I can't allow this. If you wear them down for the ride do I get to wear one too? A much afraid Barry |
Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: Amos Date: 06 Oct 06 - 02:37 PM I am sure they could design a battery operated something or other for your satisfaction, Barry. But...just maybe you'd rather not know. A |
Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: SINSULL Date: 24 Oct 06 - 01:39 PM Help! I have searched the FSGW and camp sites but can't find any info on what to bring. Sheets and pillowcases? Pillows? Towels? Anyone know? Thanks, SINS |
Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: MMario Date: 24 Oct 06 - 01:42 PM Qouting from my confirmation letter: Here are some things you should bring: Bedding, pillows, towels, flashlights (We have not seen the new site at night, so we don't know how dark it is.), clothing for a variety of weather (including warm, cool, cold, and wet or dry), musical instruments, and voices. In addition, if you are coming Friday evening please bring food for a potluck dinner. As in previous years we will have a silent auction to raise money for the Lieberman/Olive Scholarship Fund. That means we need donations to be auctioned off. This is a good opportunity to pass on your old recordings and books (and other stuff) that you are no longer using to others who would like them. All of your donations are tax deductible. And bring money or a checkbook, because you'll want to buy stuff from the auction, as well as other crafts and CDs. Things you should leave at home: The West River Center is alcohol free, so please don't bring any. Pets are also off limits. You can also leave your cares at home and plan on a relaxing though exciting weekend. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: SINSULL Date: 24 Oct 06 - 02:22 PM Thanks, Leo. Jacqui sent our registrations in as a group and she got the reply. That's how I missed it. It will be wondereful to have a heated cabin. Mary |
Subject: RE: BS: Bringing to Getaway 2006 From: Tinker Date: 24 Oct 06 - 03:01 PM Now last year I trusted in Mary's fine taste and distiction and let her select my costume -- unseen until mere hours before the event. Now we're talking batteries -- hmmmm -- I guess I can trust her again--it'll be tasteful and refined-- it is her birthday after all. My dear man is starting to get a little concerned. He asked me if the Happy Endings Workshop referred to the BOB song.... and now this |
