Alan please do not stop running this weekend. Thanks one and all. Allan. |

She's a super star in my eyes thanks Nicky. Plus I am not the only one, so thanks to Grace, Liz, Jude, Mark, Graham, Colin, Tom. Dick, Harry................................... I would bid on your gloves but I'd be worried they might expect me to use them next year and I don't love washing up that much! So I'll just donate a bit more to Jenny instead. http://www.justgiving.com/jenniferbest oops that's as bad as mentioning CD's I think. Whilst I am on the boat I will remember the Mary Ellen Carter, in fact I don't think I will ever forget it. Thanks Again. Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: SussexCarole Date: 01 Sep 08 - 04:35 PM Brilliant weekend...and as a bonus our table managed to capture the piggy's head this year despite the alarm set by the Task Force. Our journey home wasn't blighted by traffic - but just by my non sense of direction while Andrew was asleep - We saw the White Horse from a totally diferent direction this year! Big, big thank yous to all who helped to make this such a wonderful weekend. Here's to next year! Special good luck wishes to Sara's (Bavis) daughter Jenny for her charity channel swim in the very near future (wow what a woman she is). Please keep us posted Sara! Carole & Andrew x |

Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: daughter Date: 01 Sep 08 - 07:29 AM LTS YES! It was me on the Johnny Walker request thingy! As we trudged slowly along in the monsoon, I needed a "Shout Out" (as I believe they say amongst the young and media trendy these days) to all our Verwood buddies xxx. |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: GRex Date: 01 Sep 08 - 07:06 AM Yes, another great Wail. Excellent songs and voices. Many new faces. Tents dried nicely and I've just finished hosing the horses whatsits from the groundsheet; put a toad in the garden undergrowth. Poor little beggar looked bewildered when I took him from the car. Looking forward to next year's Wail. Are we now officially the Verwood Wailers? GRex |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: Cats Date: 01 Sep 08 - 05:29 AM Thanks to Alan and Nicky for another fabulous wail. Also all the people behind the scenes, in the kitchen, task force, those running the sings, behind the bar.. me for bringing the cream safely from Cornwall!!! The beer was execellent and I appreciated the discussion with Russ re the porter. It has excellent potential. He just has to bring his final brew for me to try in Cornwall before it goes on sale. The only sad thing about the Wail, for me, is that it signals the end of the summer. |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 01 Sep 08 - 02:31 AM Daughter - was that you mentioned on the Johnnie Walker show - driving back from Verwood to Essex? Just caught it as we pulled into Fleet services after a gruelling 70 miles at an average speed of 28mph along the M3. The beer was extremely good, I didn't get enough of it but next year, I will try harder! LTS |

Have photos.....will post somewhere and give directions in due course. Cheers, Lucy |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: John J Date: 31 Aug 08 - 06:01 PM I arrived home in Altrincham at 10.15pm...just a little tired! This was my first 'Wail' and I had a really great weekend. Very many thanks to all those who put in so much hard work to make it such a success. I was lovely to see old friends and make new ones - and to have such a bloody good sing, even at 3.30am this morning! One MAJOR adverse criticism....not enough of the 'Gold' beer! Best wishes all, John |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: daughter Date: 31 Aug 08 - 05:49 PM Ta all for positive feedback about the beer, all constructive thoughts would also be welcome, of course. I'll get the boy to chat back when he finally climbs out of his bath of muscle soak!!! (Perhaps a separate beer thread?!). Yep, journey back to Essex was interesting and he heroically drove all the way!! How fantastic to see you all, gorgeous weekend, love to all. I'll type up the words to our banquet song and post to Idris, would love to see the others 'coz I couldn't make out half of the funny lines at the time! xxxx PS Apprentice Pig Turner Barnes will be eyeing up appropriate spits for Jack for next year as per one of our verses :-) xx |

Great weekend, good to see some old friends and remind them the were actually there last year! Jack is still 'dry' and looked fabulous in his new Icelandic jumper. Filthy weather coming back - it took us three hours just to get from Ferndown to Fleet... about 70 miles. Looking forward to next year already! LTS |

Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 29 Aug 08 - 03:56 AM I'm sure Limpit would be happy to keep her amused! I'm trying to disuade Raven Kitty from sleeping in my rucksack... he thinks it's his. Isolde might have a playmate! LTS |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: Cats Date: 29 Aug 08 - 03:44 AM Noreen, I'm not bringing the red one from Maine, just the black velvet one for the banquet. Jon has already decided that he's sharing it so it should be really cosy under there!!! Last night at around midnight we realised that we had not seen Isolde of the White Paws for a long time, so thinking I had shut her in the garage went on a hunt for her. No Isolde! panic sets in... had she curled up in the builders van... It was at that moment that inspiration hit me. She had been 'helping' pack the van for Wareham. There she was curled up fast asleep ready in the camper to come to Wareham with us this morning. It must be that she has heard so much about it that she wanted to come too. |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: Phot Date: 29 Aug 08 - 12:51 AM Morning all! Its here, my first whole festival in two years! Ican't wait to ge there, see you all soon. Wassail!! Chris |

Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: GUEST,Noreen Date: 28 Aug 08 - 09:43 AM Stew and I will be there this year for the first time- I have been looking forward to this for so long!! One thing I would like to know- is there a bar, or does one stock up before travelling? Or both? :0) |
Subject: RE: Wareham Wail 2008 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 28 Aug 08 - 05:11 AM Don't forget, he's been through a long, expensive and arduous drying out and detox session. He is not allowed any beer at all. And no fags either. I'm not spending £3.50 on another LooBloo to get the smell out of his fur. LTS |
