Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: Kenneth Ingham Date: 19 Jul 06 - 04:36 AM My heart jumps for joy when I see TDL enter my club on Wednesdays. I see the expressions of glee on the audience as they are treated to what is usually an outstanding example of post-modernist glam-folk satire. How I feel sorry for the poor folk clubs up and down the country who do not have the pleasure of this phenonemon on a regular basis. We at the Tudor Barn are proud to have such a high flying duo still come and do regular floor spots. Obviously the fame and money have not gone to their heads, they are still in touch with their roots. This is more than you can say for a lot of folk stars these days. |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: The Barden of England Date: 19 Jul 06 - 02:04 AM I've supported them on a few occasions too, but then again they've supported me (must stop drinking so much). TDL the true path. |

I'm proud to have supported them on many occasions. One day I hope that I will be looked upon with the same respect as TDL. Then my life will be fulfilled! |

Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: Girl Friday Date: 16 Jul 06 - 05:48 PM For shame woodsie.... even bugger! bugger! bugger! If I didn't know you better, would have said you arranged that deliberately. I hope that the three musketeers ( or should that be leopardeers? ) turn up as promised, even if it's not their week to come to Friday Folk. I mean of course, Del, Kevin and Chris. We are expecting a few. Better get there early, folks! We've had a great weekend, entertaining the faithful in Rainham (Essex) and Twitton. No Geordie talk there, but Stormalong introduced himself and he sings songs in Cornish! |

Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: The Barden of England Date: 13 Jul 06 - 03:02 AM That Geordie-Peorgie is always handing me compliments like 'Hello Dad' and 'Who are you?'. And me a massive fan (in more ways than one!!). Now he reckons I've got a better voice and am better looking? I think he needs new glasses and change that herring aid into a hearing aid. Must have been all those years at sea made him get a herring aid. I reckon all those people having a go at TDL must be wearing Herring Aids too - Oh the irony of it all!!! Come to think of it a Herring Aid might well be a good idea for Broadstairs. Rollmops rule OK. |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: Girl Friday Date: 12 Jul 06 - 08:07 PM Now look here you's lot. Woodsie is our number one fan. You can't tell him to butt out of the thread that he started. Now, I don't m ind you guys having a private chat on our thread like, but wish we could understand all the venacular. TDL have already applied for their busking licence at Broadstairs. Camp Leopard will be there, beige folding caravan with tasteful jungle print curtains.BE VERY AFRAID! P.S. Does anyone know where I can get a Geordie/English Dictionary? |

Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: woodsie Date: 11 Jul 06 - 10:23 AM Well this band are certainly causing a stir on the folk scene. It's all reminicent of Dylan hitting the New York in 1961 - people weren't too sure what to make of him then. I will look back in years to come and say to my grandchildren "I knew Trevor and Sue" when they played in small clubs! |

I reckon we'd get him to play lead guitar too! Getting the Phatts on there would be great. Wouldn't be much room at our studio though! All this broad Geordie stuff is a bit strange - but we get the picture - . Glam Folk rules OK!!!! Yours Feed on Ode Part |

Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: Richard Bridge Date: 10 Jul 06 - 05:14 PM This year I camped right the other side of Knockholt field (near the sheep) |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: breezy Date: 10 Jul 06 - 04:50 PM claws are out then. weve had variable attendances at our club this summer too. I'll let you know next week how we do with Harvey Andrews appearing this Sunday 16th July at the Windward the real Folk Club St Albans. then we close for the summer anyway to re-open on 17th Sept with Chris Flegg, - find his site somewhere - launching his 2nd CD following his much acclaimed 'My Sweet Lady' last year then Anthony John Clarke and I could go on but wont TTFN |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: Girl Friday Date: 10 Jul 06 - 04:25 PM Tone Deaf Leopard are DEFINITELY NOT MS AND BD With the cookie off Richard. The reason we were up early last year at Knockholt was because we couldn't sleep - it was so hot in that tent! Sorry if we practiced too early m'dear. No such problem this year, was there? The fact that one of the opposition took the trouble to cut and paste my comments about Friday Folk's attendance proves one thing - they are looking at our website. We look at our stats - 'nuff said! Anyway, we have always had low attendance during the summer. If you read more carefully you'll see I've blamed the football. Anyway, it's been going steady for 19 years, and will continue. It's never going to be as big as Dartford, and we don't want it to be. Suggest anyone without a sense of humour depart this thread now! |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: GUEST,Jess The Cat Date: 10 Jul 06 - 03:53 PM I believe that there is a TDL album in the pipeline due for release on CD soon!!! |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: GUEST,guess the guest Date: 10 Jul 06 - 02:27 PM So not everyone has the same sense of humour - I think TDL are a great couple of people - looking forward to see them performing when they are down my way again |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: GUEST,mary snoggings Date: 10 Jul 06 - 01:49 PM and i beleive your middle initial must be the same as george bush jnr keep smilin tone deaf leoppard forever i dont think |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: breezy Date: 10 Jul 06 - 12:32 PM Sex has nothing to do with it. Warts on the left hand, which is better than having them on ones nose. I'm right-handed when I claw hammer. would recommend T D L for Broadstairs and Sidmuff fests royal variety performance!! |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: GUEST Date: 10 Jul 06 - 08:56 AM I don't know who they are but I defonotely want to find out> Where are they playing next? Sounds like fun. |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: Richard Bridge Date: 09 Jul 06 - 04:16 PM Come on, admit it, MS, you are Trevor or Sue with the cookie off aren't you? |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: GUEST,mary snoggins Date: 09 Jul 06 - 02:40 PM See Ive said its not personal and Breezy makes it so he must be a very sad person to bring sex into this bet he's got warts on his right or left hand |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: Richard Bridge Date: 09 Jul 06 - 01:54 PM There are some very po-faced people out there who really have not got it. I'm not a "fan" - and I have been a folkie for quite a while - and I have a winge about TDL from time to time - but it you can't see the comedy you really do need a funny-bone transplant. I do however recommend not camping next the them, as they are early risers whose first cup of tea is often followed by practice. I have said this to their face. Perhaps BD and MS should do likewise - or are they/you in fact invented personae of TDL promoters who realise that controversy creates the oxygen of publicity. Are you really Trevor and Sue on a wind-up? |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: breezy Date: 09 Jul 06 - 11:20 AM mary snoggins needs a humour transplant or a shag is not that a beautifal flying creature, as i once thought Winding up now till next year T D L for folk personality of the year and immortality it takes a whole lotta rehearsal to be that clever |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: GUEST,mary snoggins Date: 09 Jul 06 - 11:11 AM it seems all the followers of TDL are either tone deaf themselves or are not real folkies Just admit it crap is crap and boy that is what they are Sue may be great at organising socilaisin and the like this is not aimed at her or her other half This is a comment about a duo not personalities They are crap as an act so why put other people through it |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: GUEST,Rose tinted specs Date: 09 Jul 06 - 09:31 AM It makes me feel very sad ..having read through everything that's been written in the negative about TDL and Friday Folk ....get a life seems to come to mind ....Sue and Trev have brought a bright spark of humour into the folk scene ..surely that must count for a great deal in what can be a very dark world at times? |
Subject: RE: Tone Def Leppard From: mindblaster Date: 09 Jul 06 - 08:41 AM What a load of bollocks - the reason attendance is low is because of a whole string of factors - World Cup, Knockholt, folk & Ale, sickness, holidays etc. I haven't attended for a few months now because of other engagements. Fridatfolk is certainly one of the best organised and friendly clubs in the country. |
