Subject: RE: BS: Vertigo sufferers anyone? From: GUEST Date: 22 Jan 08 - 05:22 PM Can glasses help if you're having double vision in the morning and at nights. I had an opthamologist check me out, he said if the double vision didn't go away on its own in 2 weeks, get the glasses prescription filled? |

Subject: RE: BS: Vertigo sufferers anyone? From: Ythanside Date: 19 Jan 08 - 01:37 AM Mrrzy, fear of being at a height is called acrophobia, and can be cured or controlled by therapy. See your doctor. Hope that helps. Ythanside |

Subject: RE: BS: Vertigo sufferers anyone? From: Mrrzy Date: 18 Jan 08 - 12:57 PM I have fear of heights - which is different. Is it Meniere's disease, or something treatable? I hope! |

Subject: RE: BS: Vertigo sufferers anyone? From: wysiwyg Date: 18 Jan 08 - 12:45 PM I get a HUGE wham of vertigo every time my glasses get out of alignment. I finally got to where I trust that when it happens, I just need to close one eye (if driving) or two (if not) and relax it away until I can get the glasses re-aligned. ~S~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Vertigo sufferers anyone? From: Donuel Date: 18 Jan 08 - 11:15 AM I don't know but when I look up I sometimes get vertigo in the sense that my head fills with pressure. Perhaps it is only an anurism that gets pinched when I crane my neck upwards. A MRI should be able to see somehing like that. |

Subject: RE: BS: Vertigo sufferers anyone? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 18 Jan 08 - 09:24 AM Thanks for the link... I couldn't remember where I'd seen it last. It didn't get so much off the point as I remembered but then, I have to make every thread about me.... :D Good luck, it's only as restricting as you make it, and there are ways to work around it. Subject: RE: BS: Vertigo sufferers anyone? From: SINSULL Date: 18 Jan 08 - 08:27 AM In my early twenties I had an inner ear problem caused by a viral infection. Medication (Antivert) helped but I was warned that the symptoms would return and they do periodically but fortunately only minor bouts. The first made it impossible for me to drive. Everytime I turned my head, the world spun. Fun. As Liz suggested - be aware of what triggers the spinning and then avoid it. |

Subject: RE: BS: Vertigo sufferers anyone? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 18 Jan 08 - 07:24 AM We've had a thread about benign positional vertigo here before but I can't remember the thread title. I'll fish around my postings for it and let you know, but it did get a little off the point. I was diagnosed with BVP a few years ago. I try to avoid getting into positions where it will trip - lying back in a moving chair does it for me and I throw up rather spectacularly.... usually over the dentist. Be a bit more aware of your movements and try to make a note of what you were doing when it tripped. Then you can slowly work around the problem, like, chewing gum whilst in a lift - it can work for some people. LTS |
