Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: Liz the Squeak Date: 07 May 08 - 08:59 AM I have one of those fountains.... You have to mix the chocolate with a little vegetable oil which does affect the flavour somewhat, but not so big an effect as the one all that oil has on your digestive tract. Not for nothing is it used as a lubricant! However, it does make for great soft scoop icecream if you freeze the remainder after you've played in the fountain. I may let you borrow it one day... but I'm playing with it at the moment. LTS |
|
Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: MMario Date: 07 May 08 - 08:38 AM we could try filling the wine fountain with chocolate - but I'm not sure the pumps could handle it. What about the hot tub? Properly tempered chocolate should be as beneficial or moreso then a mud bath. . . |

Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: Stilly River Sage Date: 02 May 08 - 02:34 PM The door creaks open and Stilly walks in on a gush of muggy warm Texas spring weather. Affecting a Texas drawl, she calls for attention: Y'all pull yerselves away from slobbering on the granite counter top a minute and look out this here window: The old tavern is right over there in Max's back yard! And there's the gravel parking lot beside it, complete with room for the Auroch barbecue pit. I don't think he quite expected all of us in his basement. I already took a look in--Bert's card is still over on the old bar, waiting to be used to pay for all of this. And I see a tentacle flapping at the western door--I bet that's your pal Mr. Squid. You have to figure that the outage this morning was Max trying to be polite and figure out how to evict all of these Tavern denizens from his basement. Don't wake the babies when you tiptoe out of the house and back to the old tavern. Besides, there might be a few folks back in the recovery ward who don't even know all of this happened. Has anyone been back to check on them? And Nurse Ratched? How is she? |

Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: Rapparee Date: 01 May 08 - 09:57 PM Watchutawkinbout? I unnerstood everting Megan wuz sayin. I thought everyone knew, for instance, that "fecht" was "fight" (as in the German "fechtbuch" of the Middle Ages). It's been an...interesting...day. I'd like a single barrel bourbon, please. Booker's, perhaps, or Knob Creek. |

Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: SINSULL Date: 01 May 08 - 06:39 PM I bought Seamus a harness years ago after Kendall fed him a Guinness just before obedience class. He takes it off as fast as you put it on if you don't tighten it quickly. Fortunately I have a large fenced in back yard and he is content to wander around marking his territory and leaving land mines for the gardener to stumble upon...or in. |
|
Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: SINSULL Date: 01 May 08 - 06:37 PM Move over, Batty. Bad day at the office and I am cranky. Forget the Jell-O pit. I clean when I am cranky. It is mucked out, scrubbed to a shiny white, filled with comfortably tepid water and a somewhat hungry squid. Will you help me guide the Morris Sides over to the edge. Then I will buy you a drink and we can commiserate. Or maybe we can find a banjo player and just have a good time. |

Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: katlaughing Date: 01 May 08 - 01:55 PM Door opens smoothly, quietly letting in another "shortbread" woman, hair a little more white, sticking out around her head like a wind-frazzled halo. She looks around, liking what she sees. Heya, folks! Nice to see the new place. I want to go on the record in favour of the international flair of languages. It's good for my brain to figure out what Megan's on aboot fra dae t'dae!**BG** Been a long time since I've been to the Tavern. Wonder how long it'll take for us to muck out a jello pit in the back...anyone have a spud for Mick's thong? Ya got my amaretto sour back there, MMario? Thanks, darlin'... |

Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: bfdk Date: 01 May 08 - 01:43 PM Uhm... didn't consider the skunk... Now, that gives rise to a totally different scenario.. Jacqui walking her two menfolk on each their harness, a skunk happens along, Seamus jumps forward to greet it, Kendall retreats equally hastily in the other direction, and the band starts playing 'Torn Between Two Lovers'... Ah'll get me coat. |

Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: Desert Dancer Date: 01 May 08 - 01:31 PM I'm glad to catch some virtual morris dancing, at least! (ClaireBear -- I like your team's kit!) I'll start with a champagne cocktail for me birthday. |

After an hour on public transport, and two hours at my desk, someone asked why I had leaves in my hair... Ho hum.... I think I better stay on the soft stuff, I have to excercise my Constitutional Right later this afternoon and I need to remember who NOT to vote for in the London Mayoral Elections. Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: bfdk Date: 01 May 08 - 05:44 AM The air raid shelter won't keep a determined Meg out of your hair, Giok. Sins, did you get the poor tormented pooch a harness instead of his usual collar? If not, do so asap. It takes the strain off the neck but still leaves you in full control, so my vet informed me when Milloup presented himself with similar problems a few months back. Hmmm... while you're out shopping, maybe you should get one for Kendall as well. Jacqui might appreciate that ;-)) Rum and coke for me, please, and I'll be over there watching that Morris team. |

Subject: RE: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: SINSULL Date: 30 Apr 08 - 07:59 PM Full bathroom? Is Liz stuck again? I'll take a JD on the rocks with a twist. The job is in chaos but more important - Seamus the Dog is staying with me and has a pinched nerve in his neck, By now he has figured out that if he yelps in pain I will run, fuss, massage, while the cats stand by concerned. He has of course checked out the skunk nest - no residents in sight. His meds (Seamus not the skunk) require extra water and extra walks so today I went to work and left the back door ajar. Kitties loved it. Tomorrow, a "sitter" comes to visit so the old boy can pee at intervals. Make it a double and throw in a side of Tequila. Auntie SINS, who worries more about the dog than Kendall. |

Subject: MudCat MayDay '08 Tavern From: MMario Date: 30 Apr 08 - 02:21 PM HEy! WHERE's the TAVERN? *slack-jawed amazement* Just look at the place! Brand new hardwood floors, lots of windows, lots of light, granite wet bar, full bathroom!!!!... In addition there's a Hammond Organ, a 19th century pump organ, guitars, banjos, accordians, dobros, flutes, kazoos, drums and a multi-tiered fountain that appears to be flowing with wine. You'd hardly know it was the same place. |
