Subject: RE: UK TV Show of Hands 21 AUGUST From: Manitas Date: 19 Aug 01 - 03:44 PM Damn. I can't get it in London and I was on the show. Look out for the Lion - that's me. I'm also in one of the encores dancing behind the band sans lion. |

Subject: RE: UK TV Show of Hands 21 AUGUST From: Liz the Squeak Date: 19 Aug 01 - 05:54 PM In his off moments, Manitas does morris dancing with another side than the sword team. This sometimes involves cross species cross dressing. Otherwise known, to Canadian Customs and Excise as "lions' 'ed on a stick". I was helping the box through customs and they asked what was in it. I truthfully said, 'lions' 'ed on a stick'. 'What ma'am?' 'Lions' 'ed on a stick''. 'What?' 'A lions' head, on a pole for dancing with'. 'Open the box ma'am, REAL slow!'. He's good at this sort of thing. He just managed to be out of shot on the action shot that adorns the inner sleeve of the Steeleye Span Reunion concert CD with the same team. All you can see is a hand. If you're gonna be on TV, make sure it's national... somewhere in the archives at the BBC, I'm there, at some beach event or other.... national TV see?! LTS |
Subject: RE: UK TV Show of Hands 21 AUGUST From: Morticia Date: 19 Aug 01 - 06:06 PM Oh Bugger....I'm Meridian/Thames....don't suppose anyone would tape it for me, would they? What if I promise not to cover it in Steve Knightley-induced dribble? |

Subject: RE: UK TV Show of Hands 21 AUGUST From: KingBrilliant Date: 20 Aug 01 - 12:24 PM The Show of Hands email list are doing a 'video tree' - don't know the details - you can subscribe to the list from the show of hands website (I'll post the blick in a bit, but for now you can find it from a search I'm sure). There will be an official video of the event available later on (september), but content will probably be different from the TV one. Sufficiently different apparantly for it to be deemed OK to pass around home-recorded vids without prejudicing sales of the official vid. The SOH email list are very concientous about copyright etc and tend to check with the band before doing anything like this - so don't nobody panic! Kris |
