Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: GUEST,Den Date: 19 Nov 03 - 10:52 PM When does the BS ever get too tawdry around here Bill? We were running a thread on farts there not too long ago and getting drunks out from under porches, which you willingly participated in. I have a theory about this place and it goes like this. This place is like High School. We have people like yourself who try to foist a sort of moral code on the rest of us even though you've been around here for a short time. If this thread had been started by one of the resident hero's like catspaw eg, then everyone would be posting with gusto just to fit in. So you take exception to my post, take a poke, because your new and you don't know me, so you have a go. There's no nice way to say "fuck you Bill", so I won't try. |

Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: Little Hawk Date: 20 Nov 03 - 12:00 AM Vous avez des façons très faibles, mon ami. - Petit Faucon |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: Little Hawk Date: 20 Nov 03 - 12:01 AM And further to that, chinga tu madre, idiota! |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: LadyJean Date: 20 Nov 03 - 12:05 AM I suppose Michael Jackson is a musician. I've never been a big fan of his music. I much prefer the older version of "Rockin Robin". But since he is a musician, I suppose somebody should have said something about him on mudcat. Victoria's Secret is bringing out a CD of Sting's greatest love songs, which strikes me as very odd indeed. |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: GUEST,William Shatner Date: 20 Nov 03 - 12:08 AM Not nearly as odd as the fact that they have not yet brought out a CD of mine... |

Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: The Shambles Date: 20 Nov 03 - 02:46 AM Bill if the title of a thread is not to one's taste - it begs the question why open it? Was it just to enable youself to be further offended? Of course the answer is to enable you to take part in the Mudcat Correctness game of telling other posters what they are allowed to do or rather what they are not allowed to do. Can we just ignore what is not to our taste and encourage each other to mind our own business? For even this thread had appeared in the 'second division' - it would not prevent you from still passing judgement on what you imagined was contained there - even when you are not opening BS threads to know. But passing judgement on what others post is one thing - expecting editing action based on that to take place - is quite another. Sadly this does appear to have become the only game in town for many Mudcatters. |

Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: akenaton Date: 20 Nov 03 - 05:16 AM Micheal Jackson was and should be recognised as a brilliant entertainer.Maybe the best weve seen...and I include Davis, Sinatra et all,(as Little Hawk would say). However he is now obviously mad and as such it does us no credit to indulge in a "feeding frenzy" I dont think he's an evil man and deserves ,if not our sympathy, then a modicum of understanding.Lets leave this sorry mess to the authorities. Lady Jean...I was interested in your remark, about Stings songs being recorded by victorias secret?? Could you please explain what you meant by this, as I am a big fan of Stings writing, and would even class it as Folk music. His love songs in particular are excellent , and his social comment ,in my opinion, equals Macoll Best Wishes Ake |

Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: GUEST,Den Date: 20 Nov 03 - 10:28 AM Well said Shambles. If you have oppinion express it. If not, don't participate. Maybe I was a little flippant but I wouldn't be the first and if Michael Jackson is guilty of molesting children, star or not he deserves everything that comes to him. |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: muppett Date: 20 Nov 03 - 10:52 AM Yes I AGREE he deserves everything that comes to him if HE IS GUILTY, but I'm interested in your line of thought as to why he should still be persecuted if he's innocent, and no I'm not a Michael Jackson fan |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: Bill D Date: 20 Nov 03 - 11:18 AM " people like yourself who try to foist a sort of moral code on the rest of us even though you've been around here for a short time" short time, Den? Like 7 years? And I'm not "foisting" ANY code on anyone, just commenting on the value of tabloid journalism. I certainly have no control over what you post, and would have shrugged and ignored the rest if you hadn't gotten so incensed(...and ask catspaw if I haven't once or twice mentioned to HIM that he was going beyond the pale)..*grin*..but he took it with a grain of salt and a sense of humor. tsk, Shambles..."Was it just to enable youself to be further offended? ...Of course the answer is..." ...posing rhetorical questions which you then answer to suit your mood and define MY character is a bit extreme for my sin of making a short, low key remark, doncha think?...and BTW.."expecting editing action based..." ?? I don't believe I said ANYTHING suggesting that I was expecting 'editing action'.... I expressed a brief, passing opinion...and thanks to Den & you, I get to enlarge & expand on it! Such a deal! So...Michael Jackson is on the front page of the Washington Post, on every radio and TV program I turn on, but in MUDCAT, we get the image of him "dropping the soap and hitting the high notes"... well...you are, of course, correct, Shambles...I didn't 'need' to open the thread- I just had an overwhelming urge (which I usually resist in these matters) to comment on the tendancy for some to post to Mudcat breaking news of little relevance. mea culpa2 .....and now that we have all had this genteel exchange of viewpoints, I do believe I shall take your advice and NOT open the thread further. I can, of course, be reached by PM if anyone just has to continue the discussion. (Oh...I also didn't vote on the MSNBC online poll yesterday on the burning question, "Do you think Michael Jackson is guilty of molesting children?") |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: GUEST,Kim C no cookie Date: 20 Nov 03 - 11:29 AM This morning a local news reporter was down at the Waffle House, of all places, asking people what they thought about these latest accusations. The young man she talked to said he thought Jackson was a good dancer, but he'd been doing thing he ought not to have, and finished his statement with these immortal words: "He loony." Now, about Victoria's Secret. Sting performed on the fashion show - I didn't see it, but did see the commercials. Also for a limited time when you make a purchase at VS, you'll get a free Sting CD. I used to like Victoria's Secret, but their models are too skinny (pencils with boobs, Mister calls them), and their salespeople are extremely annoying. Now I buy from Fredericks. |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: The Shambles Date: 20 Nov 03 - 12:00 PM well...you are, of course, correct, Shambles...I didn't 'need' to open the thread- I just had an overwhelming urge (which I usually resist in these matters) to comment on the tendancy for some to post to Mudcat breaking news of little relevance. mea culpa2 .....and now that we have all had this genteel exchange of viewpoints, I do believe I shall take your advice and NOT open the thread further. I can, of course, be reached by PM if anyone just has to continue the discussion. As Bill is not going to comment here further or even open this thread again - should anyone wish to read Bill's posts on the thread subject - rather than his comments on on the tendancy for some to post to Mudcat breaking news of little relevance you can find these in the thread that I linked to earlier. These comments were posted in the days when appently he could not control his urges any better than he can now - but possibly thought that the company he was posting with was better or maybe that the breaking news about MJ had more relevance then? |

Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: LilyFestre Date: 20 Nov 03 - 03:43 PM There was a poll to trying to determine if Jackson molested children or not? That is just WRONG. Michelle |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: GUEST Date: 20 Nov 03 - 03:54 PM not to *determine* just a public opinion poll as to who *thinks* he has. |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: LilyFestre Date: 20 Nov 03 - 05:06 PM Still.....kinda sad to think that folks who don't know the man have a thought about it one way or the other. I could see if they KNEW him or were professionals in the behaviorial field or something...I'm crossing my fingers, eyes and toes that it's all a big media wash-out and that NO children were hurt in any manner. Michelle |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: GUEST,pdc Date: 20 Nov 03 - 05:26 PM Actually, anyone looking at Michael Jackson, or following his behaviour has probably figured out that this is one lonely, probably unhappy boy-in-a-man's body who has never properly grown up. I feel terribly sorry for him. That being said, if he has molested children, throw him overboard. But given the strangeness of this man, I can't help but wonder if he is really a sort of unworldly innocent, who may well sleep with children in his bed and no sex at all. He calls his ranch "Neverland," after all. Stranger things have happened throughout history. If this is the case, he has put himself at terrible risk of just the kind of thing that is happening to him now. But as I said before, if he is guilty, throw away the key. You also have to wonder what kind of parent puts their child together with a man who has previously been accused. |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: Amergin Date: 20 Nov 03 - 05:32 PM hang him. |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: GUEST,pdc Date: 20 Nov 03 - 06:29 PM Amergin, okay with you if there's a trial first? |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: Sorcha Date: 20 Nov 03 - 06:34 PM He's weird. Seriously weird. And, again, one more time, WHO REALLY CARES except the little boys and their moms? So, arrest him, try him, if guilty give him an appropriate sentence.....not a Designer Sentence. Will we see that happen? Probably not..... |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: SINSULL Date: 20 Nov 03 - 06:58 PM I agree with pdc. The last little boy who accused MJ of molesting him walked away extremely wealthy. So what sort of a parent puts his or her child in the bedroom of an accused pedophile? One who plans to walk away wealthy? One who is enamored of superstars at any cost? One who is painfully naive? I am not sure but I believe the parents here are criminally liable for their son's molestation, assuming the story proves true. What the hell were they thinking? |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: michaelr Date: 20 Nov 03 - 07:23 PM Lady Jean -- MJ is NOT a musician, never was. He's a washed-up pop star has-been who used to appeal in the 1980s to the same demographic that now idolizes Britney Spears. pdc -- good analysis about MJ having "never properly grown up". He and his siblings were thrust into the spotlight by their father (allegations of abuse abound) when he was only 5 or 6, and he was denied a real childhood by the crippling demands of fame and wealth. Now he's obviously gone insane (just look at his face, and his claim of not having had any "work done"). I hope he gets some help, and I hope he'll disappear from public view for good. Cheers, Michael |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: The Shambles Date: 20 Nov 03 - 08:07 PM It was more than a bit sad for all concerned that the original case did not come to court. It must be hoped this time a court will now be able to hear all the evidence and finally decide the issues. If he is found not-guilty - one can only hope that he will be advised to change some of his activities with other peoples's children - so as not to place himself at risk again. Whatever the court outcome - we can only hope that those who are paid and entrusted with looking after his own children - do the best job they can. |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: akenaton Date: 20 Nov 03 - 08:30 PM Michael...Regardless of his alledged activities,Jackson was a magnificent entertainer. His singing and especially his dancing I always found breathtaking, and his recordings ,though not to my personal taste, are acknowledged classics. |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: SINSULL Date: 20 Nov 03 - 08:36 PM The plot thickens: The boy, according to the latest news reports, is a cancer patient whose dying wish was to meet Jackson. The family managed to arrange it. Michael Jackson paid medical bills and helped the family out before inviting them to Neverland. What an ugly business. |
Subject: RE: Warrant issued for Michael Jackson From: Barry Finn Date: 20 Nov 03 - 08:51 PM I've seen better dancing by kids hanging out on the street & better singers out on the corners. I'm no fan of his & he's no "Little Stevie Wonder". I will "say no more". Barry |
