Subject: Obit: Remember Rory Gallagher From: GUEST,Allen Date: 16 Jun 05 - 04:44 PM Should have posted this earlier, but the 'Cat was down most of the day. Anyway, I would like you all please to give a moment of thought (and if you feel inclined, raise a toast) to this great man, who sadly passed away ten years ago, to the day. Perhpas the greatest way to remember him is by playing his songs. Here's to one of the greats. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Remember Rory Gallagher From: Geoff the Duck Date: 16 Jun 05 - 04:48 PM I didn't realise it was that long ago. I saw Rory perform a number of times, and he was always worth seeing. He is missed. Quack! GtD. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Remember Rory Gallagher From: gnu Date: 16 Jun 05 - 04:52 PM Ten years eh? Must dig out a tape I have... only one, sadly. Can't remember which one, but I recall it was excellent. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Remember Rory Gallagher From: Paco Rabanne Date: 17 Jun 05 - 06:59 AM Cheers. He kicked arse live. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Remember Rory Gallagher From: fat B****rd Date: 17 Jun 05 - 07:27 AM He played (with Taste) at the South Bank Club in Grimsby a couple of times. I had a couple of requests and he obliged politely and enthusiastically. I was never much on what became a "Eric is God" sort of thing but Rorr G was a great player and as I mentioned above a nice bloke. PS Don't forget he supported Cream at the Albert Hall and by all acounts did just fine. |

Subject: RE: Obit: Remember Rory Gallagher From: GUEST,Allen Date: 17 Jun 05 - 03:02 PM It's supposed to be 2 CD, one a collection, the other an unreleased live performance. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Remember Rory Gallagher From: GUEST Date: 17 Jun 05 - 03:53 PM His name should spring to mind as readily as some others' when talking about the category "Master of the Stratocaster." |
Subject: RE: Obit: Remember Rory Gallagher From: GUEST,Allen Date: 17 Jun 05 - 04:12 PM Rory's name is what I automatically associate with the word stratocaster. He is undeniably master of the battered strat though.... |
