Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 18 Dec 06 - 07:03 AM Core Ross you're really brainy !!!! I can only think of stupid stuff like 32t in an ah, 32 tigers in an agressive hoard. I didn't go to a proper school, we just read the bible and went to mass a lot, and made up our confessions on Friday afternoon, because we never did anything excitingly bad enough, because we were never aloud to go anywhere or do anything. |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 18 Dec 06 - 07:17 AM Nonsense PA - you are perfick Did you have nasty nuns teaching you - rapping your knuckles with rulers and condemning you to hell? I didn't - my parents were pagan I hear there are problems in Santa's workshop due to 'elf and safety regulations' 8l on a S - Eight lunatics on a singalong |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 18 Dec 06 - 07:31 AM Yeh typical Irish Catholic girls convent. My friend used to make up the most outrageous confessions for Fr. O'Keef on Friday afternoons. She used to get them out of her older sisters mags. She used to be in the box (the confessional box) for ages. She was very daring, I often wonder what happened to her !!!!!! One of the nuns got suddenly recalled to the vatican and ajunior priest ran off with a 6th form prefect. Who said education aint what it used to be - god I could write a book about the place! |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Cathie Date: 18 Dec 06 - 10:55 AM I like that Ross - could be 'first' perfect number? QED |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Cathie Date: 18 Dec 06 - 11:10 AM Now - what's all this about an ASBO Ross? Who/what is Lord Slough? I'm having a 'looking for answers' day |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Scrump Date: 18 Dec 06 - 11:12 AM Aye, Cathy (or is it Cathie? You seem to spell it both ways!) and Ross - that could well be it. Six is the first perfect number, which as any fule kno, is an integer which is the sum of its positive divisors not including the number itself. |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Cathie Date: 18 Dec 06 - 11:18 AM Cathy was taken by a previous mudcatter (not physically) so I opt for Cathie as a sign on name. I answer to both really. Thanks for your interest today. I once won a prize on this sort of competition and have a reputation to maintain! |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 19 Dec 06 - 03:56 AM Morning All - now I'm going to bore you silly. Last night we went to our son's school for the Duke of Edinburgh awards evening. There were almost 100 Bronze award winners, 150 Silver and 62 Gold. Tim's school has one of the highest award records in the country and over the last few years has lead the country with Gold award winners. Tim got his bronze award and has already started his silver. He received his award from Phil Brown, the olympic silver medalist. It was a lovely evening and we clapped almost non-stop for 2 hours. Thats me doing me proud mom bit. I'll stop now. Who invented clapping? |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Cathie Date: 19 Dec 06 - 04:03 AM It was Eve when she first saw what Adam was offering her. Well done Tim and proud Mum. |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 19 Dec 06 - 04:22 AM Must have been John Breeze Well done PA - what a family you are Now Cathy:- It all started before the 3.00 Slumberland Novices Handicap Race for young horses with reading difficulties. I was pontificating whether to put a pony on 'naughty nightie' when I said rather loudly that I wouldn't mind backing that young filly. Lord Slough thought I was talking about his wife. Struck me on the head with a champers bottle and called me an oik. I mildly pushed him and he fell orf the fourth floor balcony. He landed on 'naughty nightie' and they rode orf into the sunset. Came third. I was led orf to the cells where my legs where exposed to rubber truncheons. I then had to sing 'o lordy' whilst running my tin cup along the bars until they could bear it no more. I was released and am now the proud owner of an ASBO (class 3 with merit) Lord Slough - the sausage magnate - owns a lido in Sidmouth - you must have met him at the last Hammersmith orgy for young debs |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 19 Dec 06 - 04:27 AM Better than trying to put a naughty nightie on a pony! You should put that to music. |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Scrump Date: 19 Dec 06 - 05:17 AM I assume Adam was offering Eve the apple and not anything else? |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Cathie Date: 19 Dec 06 - 05:42 AM I presume so - if she was applauding. ' Oh Adam, what a big apple you've got!' Thanks for the update Ross. What a to-do. Can't put my finger on Lord S of sausage/lido fame. I was probably watching the Morris dancing at the time. Thank goodness you got out of jail though. I have lost my Delia Smith recipe for Christmas-cake-for-prisoners-with-hidden-explosives. Remember though - an ASBO is not for life. |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Cathie Date: 19 Dec 06 - 06:06 AM Oh dear - I think I've got my story all mixed up. I am procrastinating writing Christmas cards, but must focus now. The postie clock ticks away. |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 19 Dec 06 - 06:06 AM Careful Cathie, thats why Eve got chucked out of the garden, trying to put her finger on something? |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: breezy Date: 19 Dec 06 - 03:04 PM so eve gave us all the clap then starting with Adam? |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 20 Dec 06 - 04:26 AM Evidently clapping was invented by seals During the medieval times when they used to visit jousting tournaments in Norfolk That's why we have the royal seal/seal of approval etc Seals are delicious but not suitable for vegetarians due to their high omega content Open mic chaos tonight at the Bull - all lunatics welcome |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 21 Dec 06 - 03:52 AM Cheers MD - you must certainly did - many thanks Cheers to everyone last night Hitchin John (cheers for all the equipment), MK John, Keith, Cathy, Geoff, Davina, Lorna, Nat, Tony and Teresa Small but beautiful Christmas party next week starting 6pm at the Bull, wednesday 27th There is a mummers play being held at the frog & rhubarb, slip end - the plough woodside and a pub in Caddington from 12 noon on boxing day The Globe in dunstable also has a session boxing day evening and new years evening Christmas day is on the 25th this year and brussel sprouts are boiled |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 21 Dec 06 - 04:24 AM Had my sprouts on since Easter Monday, nearly done. Only had to top up the water twice. We're buffeting at the pub this lunchtime and partying at the Hilton tomorrow evening, I will then be raiding Sainsbury's on Saturday evening. After that it will all be a haze. Back to work on 3rd January 2007, all of this is providing I can get my last engineer back from Abu Dhabi, where he is stuck at the moment! The others have all arrived from Norway, Qatar and Thailand, just one to go. Have a lovely christmas all, hope you all get what you want. XX |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Scrump Date: 21 Dec 06 - 04:45 AM We had a good festive session at Baldock last night, with special guests the Brafront Guisers (with Barry Goodman), who did an excellent Mummers' play. I never did find out how they got that name - the mind boggles! - as they disappeared before the end of the session so I didn't get a chance to ask. Also there were the Mince Pies and the Sausage Rolls (they weren't bands, we just scoffed them in between songs or tunes). Anyway - just thought I'd wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (I've only met a few of you so far but hopefully I'll get to meet more of you next year). |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 21 Dec 06 - 06:49 AM Cheers PA/Scrump - a very merry christmas to you both and our readers everywhere where ever they may be No pub for me today - I've just had a mince pie and a cup of coffee - I'm in Bletchley today - it's an enigma It's Redbourn's christmas party at the cricketers tonight - they're a jolly lot I was thinking of having goat for christmas dinner |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 21 Dec 06 - 06:51 AM What will he eat - the goat? |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Scrump Date: 21 Dec 06 - 06:56 AM What, self-cannibalism? Is that legal these days? It wouldn't surprise me if it was. It must get difficult once you've eaten your last hand though. |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 21 Dec 06 - 07:28 AM I think the fred has become somewhat confused I was not thinking of inviting a goat for christmas dinner Theres no butts about it |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 21 Dec 06 - 08:30 AM Why is it going somewhere else, had it promised to come. |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 21 Dec 06 - 08:45 AM okay - I'll come clean - me & the goat have been having problems with our relationship - it's been tough but were both adults I suppose when the nub comes down to salt; the Beckhams christmas party invitation probably turned it's head The goat now sees a glittery world far removed from my hum drum folkiness If only butt - there's always Penelope the Penguin - wonder what she is doing? |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 21 Dec 06 - 09:13 AM I dont blame you for one second, that goats table manners are disgraceful. Penelope is ok but the smell of fish lingers for days. Your dinner goes cold while you spend all you time chucking hers to her. |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Scrump Date: 21 Dec 06 - 10:06 AM We're having Tim the Turkey round to dinner (or is it Tom? I always get them mixed up) |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 21 Dec 06 - 10:11 AM That's life - it's all dilemma, anguish & heartache But I'll be strong, walk out the door, there's nothing really happening, to save me any more, I've lost out on me beer, and the feeling of good cheer, but I'll be strong and learn to get along I will contrive How was the buffet by the way - a good starter to the Hilton? Is that the Hilton in London? - are you going by helicopter? |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 21 Dec 06 - 10:31 AM The buffet was very 'chips with everything', a gang of building were eyeing up the sandwiches and we were allowed an extra 10 minutes lunch, but the part-timers have to make up their hours next year. Nah, its our local Hilton. Same decor, same menu, but the carpark is more likely to full of muddy old landrovers and tractors rather than Rollers and helicopters. I've got a spanking new pair of wellies specially for the occassion. |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 21 Dec 06 - 10:46 AM Sounds lush And you'll be having engineers from all corners of the globe, jetting in, specially, to be there with you, on the night? Except Abu Dhabi Are you sure you're not working for MI5? |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 21 Dec 06 - 11:04 AM Abu Dhabi has departed and is due to land at Heathrow at 5.30, everything crossed. Dont think its MI5, but there are a lot of people wearing macks and dark glasses, carrying newspapers, and talking to their lapels. |
