What the hell is "Orange Ice?" Seamus didn't have anything to do with it did he?

Glad all is proceeding apace. I have no idea what that phrase actually means but it seemed to fit here............... sorta'....................in a way......................................kinda' ................

Jacqui managed to down some orange ice today and to not insult the chaplain who came to check in on her immortal soul. Once the anesthesiologist gives the OK to stop the Lidocaine drip, she will be moved out of the ICU and into a regular room where she will have her own phone and a laptop.

She is worried about the Captain. And asked several times about this thread. She is still looking forward to her first trip out of bed (OUCH!). Also concerned that her hair is a fright - it isn't. All good signs.

Seamus is safely asleep on your dog bed. No bones for him!

Jeri, your wrong dog line got the first guffaw of the day award! Good thing I wasn't drinking coffee at the moment. Bad enough I woke the rest of the house.
It's a good thing Jacqui can laugh without hurting.

Kendall....helpless indeed...you're a great fisherman!

Jeri, I have a bone to pick with you!

Yes, that's the problem, isn't it?

Good thing Jacqui knows about the collective Mudcat sense of humor, and how they know to go for the jugular once a guy shoots himself in the foot.

First he was doing it himself. Then he had something needing polished. Now it seems he's got a bone problem..............

Can someone get him some saltpeter or something before Jacqui gets home? And for gawdsakes, keep the poor dog at Sins' place.

I am anything but helpless. This may be your story Kendall, but it is not one that is universally accepted by those who know you. Frankly, most say you are unable to extract urine from high top footwear even if a detailed and illustrated manual is printed on the underside.

I lived alone a lot of years, so I learned to do for myself. You did what for yourself? Show me your palms.........uh-huh...just what I thought.............

When I was going to sea I ran the ship's laundry for the final year. That was because it was located down deep in the ship where no one else ever showed up and it gave you a place to keep the Llahma.

Hell, I even do windows. Yeah.....Because you're a well known voyeur.

Ya' know.........When I see all of this stuff together I realize what a PREEEEVERT you really are. I'd ask you to give Seamus an ear scratching but obviously even the dog is afraid to be alone with you....................geeziz...............

The very fact that she is worried about YOU Kendall, indicates to me she is in further need of treatment of some sort or another. Unlike Jeri, I am not worried at all about her ideas toward pain meds. Living with you it is obvious she has an unbelievably high tolerance for terrible pain.

Stay in the hospital Jacco.....Trust me on this one huh?

Can't you people stop going to the hospital for a day? For crying out loud, some of us may need hospitalization and Mudcat sympathy, and here you two are hogging it all up. Seriously, I'm glad your both doing okay and you're both in my prayers.

Pain medication, taken for pain, isn't abuse. It also helps you heal because you feel better and move more. (I took the stuff for my post-surgical physical therapy just because, even though I didn't think I needed it, my exercises went much easier and I tried harder. At the very least, you'll make everybody else feel better.

I'd come visit you in hospital, but I can't deny that what I've got is a cold, and you don't need one of them.

You gotta love Firefox! My power just went off for a second - computer down, TV off and all the clocks flashing. Thought I'd lost the above message, but Firefox asked "Do you want to restore session?" I did, and there was my message!

Do what the nurses and doctors tell you, and take the pain drugs for us. You won't get any after a while anyway. We love you.

Thanks very much for the update. Please remember that I'm just under 2 hours away- less if I'm visiting me mum's place in Brunswich. Glad to pitch in, deliver food, supply yarn, unlock the cellar door...and yes, pain management is not the same as drug abuse and can help tremendously in the healing process.

It's nice when you can get a few days out from surgery and realize how much better you feel. Because the first few hours/couple of days are no fun. Good luck to Jacqui with healing quickly (and properly this time!) and all of you caretakers try to pamper her when she'll let you.

And Gnu--Kendall keep Jacqui in the cellar? You jest!
