Tried and tested this last weekend there was a problem with the prototype. The top tin went BANG and the lid shot some 15ft up in rhe air. A few modifications later the same thing happened so I just done away with the top tin. This contraption is capable of making a large joint. over a period of about 5 hours.worked out in conjuction with the amount of time I spend down the Tally Ho with Woodsie on the F (A bit like me when Im legless. Richard.. Im top man at helping folk stay drunk Im a expert at it and I do not get violent or abrusive. fall on fires or guitars. |

I think the big "drivers" that I do are probably Famous Flower of Serving Men, Gentlemen of High Renown, and Brave Benbow. None of them use power chords. Reynardine is pretty much a rip-off of teh Fairport arrangement - no power chords at all - but you are thinking of the bridge (mine, not Fairport's) with that striking repeated reference through the Em7 to and back from the C. The only one I do that uses a bunch of power chords (that comes to mind at the moment) is "Henry Martin". It' also a LONG way from a 3-chord trick! |

Instead they are all following Pete the Hat and fellow drinking partner down the Tally Ho. This is nonsense. We go down the Tally Ho and others come down in our wake because they so wish to. We used to have well attended and not so much well attended work shops in the afternoons but they do not seem to happen now.instead folk sit in there tents or out side playing guitar the fire side is empty. get some workshops up and running and I will attend. alturnately we could have a game of .....Base ball...Rounders.. Thats it how about a game of Its a Knockholt Knockout. the first game we could call PORTA LOO PAR-LARVA. The Idea of the game is to get the porta loos to the other end of the field by towing them behind a car. and navigating them over various obsticles. just to make it a little bit harder we could have the opposing teams throwing sheep at each other.

Believe me they would come in handy due to the fact that our wood supplyer from Dover has kindly blown us out with only a few days to go and has only told Debbie at the last minute resulting in her having to phone round frantically trying to find another supplier. The way its looking we will be burning that old dead Oak in the centre copse. |

Had to come home to run Friday Folk. The long grass has been largely flattened by Brian's mobility scooter, but is getting muddier by the minute. We had a small but largely non-performing circle around the fire on Thursday night. Kev The Clogs was there one minute and gone the next. Norcsalordie were excellent, and happily took turns with us, Richard B and Royston. Lady Raffles sang one song, as did Martin, before the rain started again at midnight. More people arrived today. We wish them well in the Glastonbury-like conditions. BTW Bessie has laringytis, so no Dealers tonight at OFF either. |

Many people would still be there if it were not for Romany Man and his Shogun (and my towropes) extracting the less fortunate from the mud... Frank had trouble on entry. Mick and Sue Ford had trouble on entry. Royston bogged on exit with no van on. Essex Girl bogged on exit with a van on. Frank bogged on exit in his campervan. I was luckier than at Pig's Ear and made two runs out (I had two vans there, one for me and one for princess daughter), with the Volvo singing nicely, but I was able to get a fair lick on down the field and take the gate on a trailing throttle. Alas the turbo (that was the Volvo I had there) has clearly eaten a head gasket. Manymany thanks to all who provided my birthday celebrations - and in particular to Dilligaf and Essex Girl who did a curry for 30 as my birthday meal - and also for all the wonderful presents and cards. Despite the weather I think Rachel and Sam must have seen some of the heart of Knockholt, and I think we may get them back another year if the weather is better. One family nearly spoiled the event with a gratuitous display of racism and bigotry, and a range of other antisocial behaviour. But with care it was possible largely to avoid them. |

We then went to find the farmers son and sent him back with his tractor to rescue Brian who thought he was going to be stuck there until June as his nephew wasn't able to get his car into the field. We've not yet made it back for the marquee and up until yesterday the toilets were still there. At least the 14th September knockholt will stand out from all the others not only because of the mud but for the good company, good food, and the brilliant time we all had in spite of the adverse conditions. |

I know I didn't sing as much as I have done in the past, but it was nice to just sit a chill and catch up with everyone, especially Ken and Laura, Richard, Sam and Rachael, Royston to name but a few. The floor is a little creaky in places but that can be re-done in a weekend. The dent in the roof is watertight - it let not one drop over the last Knockholt and re-doing the mastic is easy if and when it becomes necessary. The beds can be used as two singles or one double. The following all work fine: - Oven Grill Hob Water heater Gas fire Shower TP2 battery pack All electrics & gas The fridge was new and nearly £400 last year. The Portapotti can be removed from the shower room if you wish. I can also take out the large subwoofer if you wish, leaving a smaller sound system! She won't last for ever, but she is still eminently usable, and she is light and compact to manhandle and tow. |
