Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: wysiwyg Date: 31 Aug 09 - 12:20 PM Aquatics are back into a measuring-mode for the season, and last night I found that I'd cracked the 160 BPM barrier (150's just a week ago) into the 170-190 BPM, intervals zone. The Fall and Winter will include, as well, our home weight room, with Hardi as mentor. I'll be posting starting weights, reps, and sets as soon as he can start me off with a baseline assessment. We have some REAL nice toys here now. ~S~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: LilyFestre Date: 30 Aug 09 - 04:39 PM Yoga (on Friday), 75 minutes worth...first time in awhile. I'm sore today! Signed up for weekly classes though so I hope to get back into the routine of it...I have missed it and so has my body. Kinda weird to think that the two are separate entities, no? Michelle |

Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: Catherine Jayne Date: 21 Aug 09 - 04:42 AM Great news Liz!! We're just back from a soggy but enjoyable week in Scotland visiting family. I've managed to put on 3lbs by eating very nice and rich food, not to mention too much birthday cake! I did manage one run along the loch side but as it was so wet for most of the week we drove most places and didn't do alot of activity. So I'm back home and back on track, exercise classes have been booked and I'm going for a jog tonight once the kids have gone to bed and Paul is home from work. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: LilyFestre Date: 20 Aug 09 - 10:24 AM MAG, If you can't get it on iTunes try calling the Kripalu gift shop in Massachusetts. It's a yoga retreat place with a gift shop that is half music....all kinds of obscure meditational kinds of stuff. If they don't have it, I'd bet they can get it. Michelle |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: LilyFestre Date: 20 Aug 09 - 10:22 AM MAG, Have you tried iTunes? You can purchase the music and burn it to a CD for her...maybe that would help. Feel better. Michelle |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: MAG Date: 20 Aug 09 - 09:17 AM Well, I've done enough yardwork to reactivate an old shoulder injury. I'll have to see if it gets better or worse on its own. The besy thing for it is physical therapy, nut mine is mad at me after I lost a meditation CD she lent me. It's not the kind of CD you can run down to the corner and replace. |

Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: Liz the Squeak Date: 19 Aug 09 - 04:28 PM Good news this week, the extra couple of pounds have vanished, taking half of another one with them... only half a pound to go and I'll have lost 10% of my body weight since last year. It's been a slow old grind over the winter, stuck at one point for nearly 3 months, but it's back on track now and I'm already feeling the benefits! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: LilyFestre Date: 16 Aug 09 - 11:34 AM My husband and I went on a sunrise (kayak) paddle this morning. It was WONDERFUL! It was kinda neat to be the very first person to enter the water this morning. The water was much warmer than the air and it was absolutely still. There was a heavy mist in the air that seemed to swallow me as I paddled off. It's an interesting sensation to have some of your senses removed. I couldn't see anything in front or behind be except for the gray, silvery mist. The only sounds I heard were an occasional fish jumping out of the water & the bird songs somewhere in the distance. Absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to go again. Activity (so far) for today: 2 hours of kayaking Michelle |

Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: Liz the Squeak Date: 12 Aug 09 - 12:09 PM Lots of walking last week - up and down bits of Hadrian's Wall and pottering around castles, cathedrals and towns... but lots of sitting in the sun and sewing too! Back to work and the walking routine now.. it's taking time to get back into it after those weeks I took off in June/July. Glad to say that the suspected 'swine flu' 2 weeks ago didn't take a big toll and although I got tired quickly for a few days afterwards, I was fine by the Saturday. Weigh-in in a couple of hours so we'll see how much those holiday ice-creams have added... LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: Catherine Jayne Date: 12 Aug 09 - 04:11 AM Great Gnu!!! Yesterday I took the kids into town so I could run some errands. On holiday from tomorrow morning but my running closes and shoes have been packed so I'll be jogging along the lochside for the next week! |

Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: LilyFestre Date: 11 Aug 09 - 04:12 PM Okay. So here's the deal. I'm tired of NOT doing anything. I dusted off the treadmill, set up 2 fans nearby and walked 2 miles. It felt great and I might just do another one before the hour is over. My body misses the movement no matter what my head says. Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: LilyFestre Date: 11 Aug 09 - 11:47 AM Given the heat and humidity, I have put off starting my new walking adventures until it cools off a bit. The thyroid medication I take makes me sick when it's this hot & adding exercise only makes it worse. My yoga instructor is on vacation so really, I'm not doing much of anything except hanging out in front of a fan. Oh. And filling out more adoption paperwork. I suppose I could do yoga at home but my cats and dogs think that when Mommy is on the floor, it's playtime! Fun but not helpful when hanging out in poses like standing forward fold, down dog, up dog, any belly poses.....not fun (or productive) with dog noses poking every which way!!!!! Michelle |

Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: katlaughing Date: 03 Aug 09 - 11:35 PM maeve, congrats on cinching the inch up!*bg* Goodonya! I am doing a lot better. We spent most of yesterday morning moving stuff out and going through it and all in our bedroom, more on the declutter thread in a minute, but it was all physical and, for me, hard work. I counted actual bits throughout the day came to about 3 hours. I did about an hour more this morning, getting stuff sorted and put away and i felt as though I'd worked really hard, again, but as soon as I sat down my energy level came back up so I know things are on the mend! |

I am definitely getting my strength back! |

Hope you are feeling MUCH better (which I imagine you are given the activities you posted!) Big news for me...I have been asked to join a triathlon team!!! It's a mini triathlon with kayaking, running and biking. I've been asked by 3 different teams if I would be their paddler!!! WOOO HOOOO! That's exciting to me!!!!! Let's see....yesterday I walked 3 miles. Today I did yoga for an hour. Shavasana was difficult as I pulled a muscle in my back last week. I'm happy to say though, that it's getting better! Tomorrow I am taking out 20 new kayakers...I am SO FREAKING EXCITED that I can hardly wait!!! The weather forecast is in our favor: 86 degrees, sunny and less humid! And today it poured which means water levels will be UP....this is GOOD NEWS!!! HOORAY! I'll let you know how it goes! Michelle |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: Catherine Jayne Date: 31 Jul 09 - 04:56 AM Tuesday I needed my nebuliser but it was down to a reaction to some antihistamines I took....that will teach me to not read the small print!!! Had a 3-4 mile walk yesterday with the twins in their buggy. Treated myself to a pair of trousers a pair of jeans and a new top. I can't believe how much better I feel and look wearing clothes that fit me instead of being too baggy! |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability All Summer Long 2009! From: katlaughing Date: 30 Jul 09 - 05:16 PM LtS, well it might've been me was being stuffed!**bg** I have lost nine pounds of water weight in a week and have about seven more to go by my doc's and my reckoning. All left-over crap from the pneumonia and "curatives." WeightWatchers online cautioned me to stop losing so much!:-) I feel much better, esp. my breathing. Today, for the first time in three months, I had my first solo trip out of the house; I drove myself to a nearby restaurant and met a friend for lunch. I did okay with the walking, with carrying the O2 bottle and visiting. Didn't get too tired and actually feel a bit energised which tells me it is time to get moving more...now the fear is gone. So lot's more activity today and lots less shaky. I am getting better! |
