Keep going Kat!!!!

As for me, I did 60 minutes of yoga today, very active yoga. I left the class all shaky. Thought maybe I had a low blood sugar so I checked it...193....far from low. Something strange is going on with my body.

Weigh in was today for me. I'm down 6 pounds this week.

Liz you are doing great....and one pizza isn't going to hurt much, you are allowed treats!!

Legs feeling much better. Yesterday was a 3 mile round trip pushing buggy and buggy board. In the evening I did my usual 2 mile brisk walk to the gym, an hours step aerobics and a 2 mile jog home. The jog home seemed so much easier since sundays 5km run. Paul reminded me that 7 years ago I couldn't walk without crutches and was about to have a major operation on my legs. I've come a long way since then. Total weight loss since September is 4 and a half stone. Got 14 months to hit my target, I should do it!

177 at the Y this morning; considering the state of my life the last 2 weeks, a gain of 2 lb. doesn't bother me.

But it IS back on the ol' treadmill.

No loss, but no gain either... until I got home and ate the pizza!

Still very happy about losing nearly 10% of my body weight... now all I need to do is lose that again and I'll be about right!

Body Attack class las night probably wasn't the best idea I've had recently, should have given my legs a bit of a rest. Only managed half of the class before walking the 2 miles home. I'm hoping my legs won't be as stiff for step aerobics tonight.

I have been away for 2 weeks due to a death in the family.

Of course everyone tended to gather in the kitchen, with all the stuff the (truly) lovely people brought over. umpty ump kinds of cookies, cakes, zuccini bread, pie, 3 fruit baskets, homemade chocolate fudge (that one was my downfall).

I ate more sugar in the last 10 days than I have in the last 18 months, total.

I'm more than a little jet lagged at the moment and processing a bunch of stuff, but anxious to get back on track. Not anxious to get on the scale.

Well I did it!! I completed the 5km Race 4 Life this morning in 28 minutes....and yes I ran all the way!!! I feel great, the atmosphere was fantastic there were 17'000 women running and I had my wonderful family and friends with me. Definitely signing up to run in it next year!

I continue with a few minutes of the pedal exerciser most evenings. Did my qi gong twice this week. Today, I pushed the cart and did an intensive 25 minutes at the grocery store. I try to do it as fast as possible without getting uncomfortable. Having something to push helps me stay steady and trudge on. I also walked about another ten minutes this morning. What little muscle i had went south over the past three months. It is a long and slow climb up, but I'm definitely improving.

Having a walk today with the family, probably about 3 miles or so. Tomorrow I'm running in the Race for Life. Although its only 5km it's something I never thought I would be able to do. I'm aiming to jog it and have a target time I would like to do it in.

I'm organizing a kayak trip for many of the women who go to Weight Watchers. So far, I have 17 people signed up...I'm SO EXCITED!!!!!! Many of these women thought you had to be thin to enjoy the outdoors in a kayak...I can't explain to you how happy it makes me to be able to show them that really is NOT the case at all!!! YAY!!!

Goal now is to keep it below that 15 mark and lose the other half stone by the end of August. Then we'll see how it goes.

Good news - grapefruit have been found to contain a chemical that prevents the liver absorbing fat. Bad news - you need to eat a LOT of grapefruit for it to be beneficial!

Official weigh-in tonight - I'm officially a stone and a half lighter than I was this time last year! FINALLY managed to break that elusive 15st barrier and stay under it! 2 weeks staying the same, and then a loss, I'm a happy bunny!

Plus, a lot of people have commented on how I look - although it may be more noticeable because I've been filed away on the sofa for a month, and not been out and about so much... but that has really made me feel a lot better!

Keep it up peeps!

Hi Catherine,

So she doesn't follow a specific type of yoga like Birkram, Kundalini or Kripalu (all of which work different parts of the body, just in different ways....like Birkram is hot yoga, Kundalini is more breathy, Kriaplu is compassionate...although sometimes I wonder about that compassion while in up-boat..LOL). Just curious. I am SO addicted to yoga that it isn't funny.

Hi Michelle

The class here is a mix up of various different styles. The instructor keeps us on our toes so to speak with different techniques. The class yesterday had a lot of strengh work for the legs...today I am stiff!

Hey Catherine,

What kind of yoga do you practice? The local studio here does Kripalu style yoga but she tends to mix it up (Monday being the power yoga class) with some Ashtanga vinyasas. I'm a jumper, how about you?

Namaste!

A hike hauling kayaks through a cornfield and then an 8 mile kayak trip!! My husband went along today and we had a GREAT time! The temperature is just right, the water levels are good....not too high which was a concern given all the rain we have had lately. There were a few riffles and a couple of WHOSH spots (rapids...sorta). YAY!!! A fun day of activity!!! VERY FUN!!!
