Subject: RE: Derek Brimstone, a question? From: scouse Date: 12 Jun 11 - 06:12 AM As Far as I can remember... As Aye, Phil We both had a very good time. Well how many miles did we travel side by side, laughing and talking and sometimes we even cried, But the long long road is ended so baby dry your eyes, Come here let me kiss you,you know I'm goin' to miss you, And we both had a very good time. Now how many Bar rooms, how many Cities and Towns, And how many People how many sights and sounds, And how many places did you hear me sing my songs, We'll laughin' or grievin',we broke about even, And we both had a very good time, Now remember all the good times, forget all about the bad, You know,I really, really loved you, I gave you every thing I had, But didn't I always tell you, someday the time will come, Well I'm sorry my dear but the time is here, And we both had a very good time. Y'know this ain't no time for sorrow, an' it ain't no time for tears, Cos happiness just faded and then it disappeared, You've got many more years than I have, an that's why I set you free, So be glad that you've met me,please don't forget me, And we both had a very good time. |

Subject: Derek Brimstone, a question? From: GUEST,Bruce Michael Baillie Date: 01 Feb 10 - 03:33 AM This morning I had an unusual email from a chap called Brian Edwards in Vancouver, Canada. I thought one or two of you might be able to help him so here is his message! "I don't know whether this is a coincidence or a connection. I watched you singing a Derek Brimstone tune on You Tube and of course noted your name. Derek Brimstone's sister married a fellow by the name of Baillie and they lived in Sutton Coldfield. My mother was the house keeper of the Ballies whose name is Lily. The last time I saw Derek was at a party I held in my apartment in Walsall Wood, West Midlands. Derek came along with a friend of mine Terry McCann and Colin Scott. The folk scene in the late 60s early 70s was just fabulous with folk clubs in every town. I heard that McCann had died, don't know of Colin Scotts where abouts and it is so good to know Derek is still out there. Take care and good health Brian Edwards Vancouver Canada I still have Dereks album" Anybody out there able to help? |
