Subject: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Bobert Date: 05 Sep 11 - 07:15 PM Well, well, well... Just go off the phone with my brother and he says that our cousin in New Jersey (no joke) and his son, P.J., and grandson, Tiny, are on a reality show about repossessing stuff... I think the show is on tonight at 10:00 on True TV (cable) and called "Swamp Bear Recovery"... Anyone who is thinking of messing with me ought to know that I can make a call and have these folks pay you a personal visit... Heh heh... Check 'um out!!! B~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Stilly River Sage Date: 05 Sep 11 - 07:24 PM Bobert, I just finished a last long weekend of a couple of long weeks of helping a friend clear out his house that is being foreclosed. His late partner was a hoarder and had filled it with what are essentially useless holiday decorating trinkets. You can be sure that he's leaving the house looking just the way the repossessing bank will want to see it [not]. SRS |

Yeah, brother told me last winter that Cousin Buddy (Phil Vinch on the show) was talkin' with some folks about doing a show but didn't hear anything more about it... Are they entertaining??? My couz was when we we youngin's... He has his own drag strip in the back yard... Well, not exactly a yard but a compound... His daddy was into construction and had about 20 pieces of heavy equipment around... Never saw him actually work??? (Wink, wink...) B~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: gnu Date: 05 Sep 11 - 07:53 PM So, you got no "size" on "Tiny"? I got a mental pic of him and it ain't tiny. I got a distant cousin called Tiny and he is in the business of "repayment". He is not tiny. |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Wesley S Date: 05 Sep 11 - 07:54 PM Oh I get it. Your relatives are the ones who do the repossessing. I just assumed they were the ones having THEIR stuff repossessed.... |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Rapparee Date: 05 Sep 11 - 10:05 PM Bobert, there's lots of reason folks might not want to mess with you. Mostly it's your control over the weather. You move the NC and there are tornadoes, hurricanes, heavy rain, flooding.... Man, I don't mess with anyone that could get me struck by lightning! |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Bobert Date: 05 Sep 11 - 10:16 PM I'm watchin' it and loving it... Oh, the stories I could tell about Couzin Buddy (Pops) but I can't... Them boys come mess me up... lol... B~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 05 Sep 11 - 10:31 PM So people shouldn't mess with Boberdz on account of he's got relatives who are repo men, huh? Well, I got relatives who drive honeydipper trucks. Mess with me an' they'll fill yer swimmin' pool up with week-old shit! No, they don't star in no reality TV show, but I figure it's only a matter of time. Watchin' my relatives pump out portable toilets has gotta be at least as entertaining as watchin' Bob's relatives repo some poor slob's ridin' lawnmower. |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Bill D Date: 05 Sep 11 - 11:05 PM Oh my! I quit even looking at those repo shows when it became obvious that most repo guys needed to weigh 300 or more...and usually be bald with tattoos! Now, I just caught the last 10 minutes of that 'epic',(with the yacht and the crazy girl) but it's on again at like 2AM, and my DVD is set to record it! I gotta get some more insight into Bobert's family! |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Bobert Date: 05 Sep 11 - 11:17 PM So do I, Bill... I mean, Couzin Buddy (Pops) is the same as he's always been but I don't know anything about these other people... ??? B~ BTW, My dad's sister, June, married Phil, Sr. and Couzin Buddy is my 1st cousin... All very surreal... B~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 06 Sep 11 - 05:46 AM I think you're onto something there, Bobz. BillD says reality shows about repo guys have been played out. So let's give 'em a new lease on life by mxin' the repo guys with other professions! Repo guys & honeydipper drivers: When some smartypants locks that Camaro he's missed a payment on in the garage, just back the honeydipper truck up to the garage door and send a pressurized blast of Job-Johnny Juice in through that little crack at the bottom. Next night, that garage door'll be open tryin' to air the stink out and the repo guys can slip in, hotwire that mother, an' drive it away. Repo guys & street mimes: Sometimes the repo guys need to create a distraction, right? Well, what better distraction than a street mime? You gotta figure anyone who's behind a couple of payments on his F-150 4WD is gonna be in a pretty bad mood anyway. So just stick a mime in his face! While he's busy beatin' the shit outta the mime, the repo boys are winchin' that pickup onto a flatbed. Repo guys & strippers: Not even gonna bother to explain that one. Use your imagination. That's just a handful of ideas. The possibilities are endless. |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: gnu Date: 06 Sep 11 - 05:55 PM I agree with John in a way. It's obviously made for TV. First of all, the restaurant owner must have been paid because they wouldn't have been able to video it otherwise, right? Then, he commits assault with a deadly spaghetti and a lethal pie ON CAMERA. And, grown men grandstaning about all the dangers... flames, grease, hot water... they didn't look like they were scared of grease! Based on that ONE clip. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 06 Sep 11 - 07:06 PM There are close to a dozen Swamp...somthin shows on cable now. That's because of the appeal the primal, primitive, and elemental side of human nature holds for many people. But the cable shows' produers can't use words like "primal", "primitive", or "elemental" in the shows' titles because many of their potential viewers don't know what any of those words mean. Most of them do, however, have a general idea of what a swamp is. |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: Bobert Date: 06 Sep 11 - 07:09 PM You gotta know my Cousin Buddy (pops), gn-ze... He's a big thinker and not afraid of trying anything... Not a lot of folks out there at his age still hustling... B~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: gnu Date: 07 Sep 11 - 07:55 PM "That's because of the appeal the primal, primitive, and elemental side of human nature holds for many people." Swamp People does it for me. I am two generations away from that but up country, where I spent a lot of my time learning the backwoods, there ain't no gators. Black bears are the baddest but they ain't no match when you consider gators and snakes. Bears don't make me flinch. A gator or a PIEson snake would freak me out. Maybe that's why why I am such a fan of watching my Acadian cousins out in the swamp... SHOOT, SHOOT! |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: GUEST,Chongo Chimp Date: 08 Sep 11 - 01:41 PM The real reason folks don't wanna mess with you, Bobert, is quite simple. It has to do with yer personal hygeine...the lack of it, that is. I won't go into the nasty details, but I think you know pretty well what I am talkin' about. My suggestion: Build yerself a primitive shower still out back of the old shed. All ya really need is a bucket, a rope, and a beam to hang the bucket off of. For water you got the old pump in the backyard, next to the pig's feed trough. Cold water is good. It wakes you up and suppresses yer viler impulses. You will be amazed at how much better folks will like you if you just douse yerself good a couple times a week with fresh cold water...and use soap! If you don't know what "soap" is, well, it is sorta waxy lookin' stuff that comes in a small bar you can hold in your hand. Heck, here is a video that should explain it all better than I can: What soap is. And how to use it. Watch it carefully. Ya gotta wait till about the 56 second mark before the part about usin' soap comes, okay? Some useful stuff in there about improvin' yer general lifestyle too. - Chongo |

Subject: RE: BS: Why folks might not to mess with me... From: GUEST,Chongo Chimp Date: 09 Sep 11 - 12:19 AM What you are engagin' in, Bobertz, is a classic case of what shrinks call "projection"...seein' yer own faults in others. I feel yer pain, buddy. I know it must be hard facin' ostracization and re-jection on every hand, havin' folks crossin' to the other side of the street to avoid you, that sort of thing. It can lead to depression and alienation. Soon you find yerself stockpilin' ammo and guns and bombs in the basement and preparin' for a last defiant stand a la Elfego Baca or Billy the Kid. One day you are on the 6 O'Clock news cos the Feds have you surrounded and the Swat teams are bein' dropped by helicopter on the roof of your home fortress and the bulldozers are rammin' in yer front door. All of that can be avoided by a few simple alterations in personal lifestyle...soap...basic dental hygeine...a shave...a change of clothes once in awhile. Give it some thought. I can always be reached by phone if you need to talk. Call 1-800-APE-HELP anytime...day or night. If I ain't there to talk, a real nice Baboon called Chachi will be, and you can trust him implicitly. He cares. He has been there too and come out the other side to where he is now walkin' in the light instead of the darkness. If he could do it, you can too. - Chongo |
