TRUMPNIFICENT SHILLERIFIC ENGORGERAMA of the REPUBLICKER CONTENTION.

INCLUDING runner up miss Americas , Mormon tapurknuckle choir, bob jones all male gospill singers, Sarah Payless, League of legal haters, Game of Throwns throwing contest, Oxytocin open bar and special guest stars; Vladassmear Putin, George Zimmerman, David Duke, Cersei and introducing Tina Mousselini with Monsters of Ceremony GIANTS like Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levine, Michael Savage and Glen Speck.

In actuality the US is not going to have a Trump Presidency unless there is a record setting voter turnout like there was in 1860.

I hope so, I dearly hope you are correct, and from where I sit it is the most likely outcome.
But then I thought the UK General Election and the neverendum would turn out a different way. Didn't see the Arab Spring, nor the turmoil. Nor the Peace Dividend from the Cold War would be Ethnic Cleansing. Had I , I would be the harbinger of doom. Oh dear, I think I must be!

These are time of turmoil. My current ability to see the future is out of whack, and I suspect I am one of a majority on that particular subject at least!

For the most part, the Conventional Wisdom is that high voter turnout helps Democratic candidates. Now people are saying that a high turnout will benefit Trump. I don't think so. I have more faith than that in the American electorate. Sure hope I'm not wrong.

The old time republican party line was that the republic needed a select voter base to keep the rabble out. To get the "little people's vote" Patriotism, religious values and family values has succeeded until Clinton.
Bush II only succeeded in disillusioning the Christian right.
Obama inspired the greatest gun sales this country has ever seen by the scared and bigoted.

Sometimes you make a new friend from shared dislikes. You assume the shared likes and loves would match but that's an assumption.
Shared hatred trumps shared loves.

If America has more recently destitute unemployed people full of rage and hatreds who registered to vote, then actually I believe Trump gets an advantage ONLY if the turnout exceeds 72%

The anti government crowd will believe anything.
The educated believe in conventional wisdom.

Voter suppression is in play in a big way.
The conventions are more meaningful and the turn out decides the game.

It is a great danger, to be sure, but one still of low probability. On the other hand I never would have believed the American people would be idiotic enough to elect W. for a second term.

I look forward to the two conventions providing dramatic entertainment.
