Congratulations Kitty; and Derek of course.

To answer your question posed on the Sidmouth thread; no I won't be able to make it to the Wail either. Overnights away are increasingly difficult to organise and I'm now up in North Derbyshire so popping in for a day isn't an option. With your well known ubiquity wherever there's a good song I'm sure I'll run into you both somewhere though.

Yes Roger - we'll be celebrating 12 years of being together at the Wail this year, plus we're engaged and buying a bungalow in Ferndown....

Dear friends,

It feels like only a few months ago that we were packing up after last year's Wail, yet there are only just over 5 weeks to go before the 28th Wail gets underway.

As usual we are looking forward to a most enjoyable weekend of song complemented by good company, good food and good drink. Full details and tickets are available on the website at http://www.wail.org.uk/ so I'll only sketch in the highlights here.

Those who were there last year will know that a new shower was installed in the Ladies - which is something that the men have been asking for for years :-)

I've added some photos from last year to the website but I didn't have many and most of those were of the "Beach Party" session. If you took any good ones last year, please send them to me and I'll put them in the gallery. Also, if you penned a song for the Banquet, please let me have the lyrics for the website as well.

The "Party" theme this year for the Saturday afternoon session will be "Mad Hatter's Tea Party". Speculation is already running high as to whether our barmen will be wearing anything other than hats.

On a sadder note, we've lost Chris Mason and Neil Roberts over the past year. They were 2 of our stalwarts and we'll miss them. In addition, Peter and Maureen Collins have sent their apologies as they don't feel they're up to the whole weekend this year, however they hope to be there for a while on the Saturday.

Most of the arrangements are the same as last year. In particular all prices remain the same, so I think we still have the best festival deal on the planet! If you're intending to get meal tickets, Nikki has asked that you book them by August 26th. The most important details are:

Dates: September 2nd - 4th (weekend after the Bank Holiday)
Location: Oakfield Farm, Verwood BH31 6JJ
Cost: £22 before August 21st, £28 afterwards, under-16s free
Meal tickets: adults £16, children £10

Hope to see you at the 2016 Wail

Idris
