Which places in the UK are going to burn a Trump effigy for the Fifth of November?

Edenbridge

I suspect there will be hundreds of them. Post links here?

The Mexicans got there first:

Mexico City, Easter

Nice try, Jack,
But I can't see how we can allow such a thread in the music section.

I fear that it will be long past the fifth of November before the fires all get put out.

Let's hope that they don't actually tie the Donald effigy to the stake. Far better to mount him on top of the conflagration with the stake right up his bottom.

With someone asking "How would you like your stake..."

I opened the thread hoping it may be a reference to the age old tradition of setting fire to farts. Now that would have belonged above the line!

And Valmai Goodyear (big cheese in the Bonfire Society scene in Lewes, Sussex) reports on Facebook that this year six of the seven societies set fire to a Trump this year, and one of them burnt a Trump for the second year running. Both are unprecedented.

I think the one that didn't burn a Trump burnt a Harvey Weinstein instead - surely the UK has enough villains of its own? Or at least let Europe into the fun and burn Rajoy?

I didn't go to any bonfires this year, but did see a Trump mask in Edinburgh city centre on Halloween.

Are you supposed to fuel the flames with books or what?

Well said Don.....an A* for that, those who attend such a conflagration would have no need for reading material.

How long before they sell chamber pots with a picture of Twitler looking up at the trumps (etc) coming down?

Now that is a tradition as old as chamber pots and recorded in 1750ish in song.

In the book by Thomas D'Urfey of "Pills to Purge State Melancholy" (not the less political and more well known tome of similar name and author)

There is a song about it that has a chorus "Piffing on his face". And in those days you could choose your politician to piff on!

I have a toilet roll with Twitlers face on every sheet. I save it for special occasions such as the morning after a particularly hot curry.

There is a pub somewhere in Scotland that has lifesize photos of Trump laminated onto the gents' urinal. Beats the flies at Schiphol.

I collect life size stand up cardboard figures. The only one that comedically goes with Trump is Johnny Depp's first Pirate of the Caribbean. Along with tiny red flags a Hurricane flag and Russia the display is complete. I suppose I could make my own 4 ft Putin for better effect.

And here I thought a Trumpfire was what one produced by igniting a fart.
