Subject: RE: Obit:Lincoln Mayorga (Ochs accompanist)(1937-2023) From: Charlie Baum Date: 23 Jul 23 - 09:46 AM Lincoln Mayorga was the genius behind the accompaniment to Phil Ochs' "Outside of a Small Circle of Friends." Subject: RE: Obit:Lincoln Mayorga (Ochs accompanist)(1937-2023) From: GUEST,anglo Date: 25 Jul 23 - 08:43 PM A few years ago, when Lincoln was still living in Chatham NY, a few of us led by Judy Staber put together an English-style Music Hall program for a few performances. We were lucky enough to have Lincoln as our accompanist. A brilliant pianist, recognized as a leading interpreter of Gershwin's music. RIP Lincoln. |

Founder of two record labels - Sheffield Lab and Townhall Records, he was in demand in the studios as an arranger and composer, and he helped countless other musicians over the years. He brought American and Soviet musicians together during the Cold War to record The Moscow Sessions. https://www.afm47.org/press/final-note-lincoln-mayorga/ |
