BTW: The song - as Eric sings it on his record - consists of a further verse: Now we walk alone, now we walk alone, me, God and acne. |

The folks I knew who sang it used to listed to von Schmidt a lot so I'd gesss he was the source. I thought they were singin "The Acne Blues" prior to 1964 though. Good site, by the way. Along with the dreaded spotty pus we have also the 'missing teeth' brigade. These are normally bodhrán players, although box, and curiously enough, Amish pitchfork nose intonation attenuator players, often fit into this category. Folk musicians tend to have more sweat and saliva drooling from their bodies, as Mbo has attested to elsewhere in this document. All this salty stuff has two purposes. One is to get under your skin and cause zits, the other is to send out STRONG 'I am available to the opposite/same sex'(Delete where applicable) signals. As I prove time after time. Having just come back from a little party some friends and I organized where I had sex with selected teenagers of my choice. Don't worry Sir Arthur. Just give them that 'I am virile' look over the top of your mandolin, and the chicks will be fighting like little cats, getting all hot in the underpants, over the privilege of a menàge a trois with you and your F-holes.

The cure? Was your hands! My classical guitar teacher told me that washing your hands before and after musical performance will not only be beneficial to the strings and finish of the instrument, but to your skin as well. But don't overdo it...too much water softens callouses on the fingers, resulting in a not-so-good sound when playing. --Mbo |

Since taking up banjo, penny whistle, and mandolin, I seem to be breaking out all over, and am frustrated by it. I thought I was well past this point. Any suggestions or thoughts? |
