I heard that, Joe Offer! Here I am, back from cooking supper, ready to do the chore, and Sweet Joe with his wonderful experimental program has done it!

I did know you had an EZ way to do it, Joe. I have to really mess with it to get it right, even with the Pre command.Thanks!!

GawD!! How I remember LOVING that song!! And for years, all I knew of it was a tantalising snippet used as a Brit TV show theme - WHAT was that now???

There was an additional verse in the Take Three Girls version, if memory serves:

Go down to London Town, see the people there
Rushing round and round with no time to spare

The TV show "Take Three Girls" featured Liza Goddard (I think it was on BBC in the early 1970s), playing a scatty character called Victoria, Carolyn Seymour playing someone called Jenny Jay, and Angela Down who played someone called Avril Pond, I think. Only Lixa Goddard seems to appear on TV now.

The verse about London town (this verse is not in the version I have on a double CD "Troubadours of Folk" by various artists on Sanctuary Records 2003 though I can remember it, either from the program, or possibly on a single). I think it started "Come down to London Town, watch the People there") and I think the last line is "Try to earn a living if you can".

Did you ever track down a recorded version of "Light Flight" with the lyrics "Come down to London town, see the people there, rushing round and round, got no time to spare....etc" ?? (ie like the Take Three Girls version.)

It's bin driving me nuts trying to find a CD version with that verse - did you ever find out if it was ONLY on the BBCs theme tune recording?

I think they based it on Camptown Races :-)

One of the Pentangle group died today. This got me thinking about Light Flight and the Take 3 girls verse, which I think was the only one sung in the opening credits. Here's my attempt

Go down (or drive up or similar) to London Town see the people there
Rushing round and round with no time to spare
Look around for someone try to earn a living if you can
If you're strong, can't go wrong
Ba-da -da doo -da etc
