"Ridge Road Gravel" written by Norman Blake, appears on the CD "Blake & Rice" Rounder #0233. CDNOW has a sound sample which consists of a long guitar break and a few words. This is what I think I heard:

I heard it on my radio: bad times all around. Tell me something I don't know. The change could…

However, even with these words to search for, I still couldn't find the lyrics on the 'Net. It sounds like a catchy tune, though, and I think it would be a good addition to our database if anyone else can help.

Here we go, folks, sorry for delay.

Sitting on the river bank, nothing coming down,
I don't know why I don't move on, out of this ol' town.
Snow's a-falling in the street. The winter's setting in.
The years and changes say to me, “You can't go home again.”

CHO: So sing me a song that's not too long. Take me home tonight,
Till around the bend, I see again, the ridge road gravel and the coal oil light.

I heard it on my radio, bad times all around.
Tell me something I don't know. A change could help out now.
Looking for a good-time gal, looking for a friend,
Mourning for those good ol' days I thought would never end. CHO.

Written by Norman Blake.

Jim, I don't know how to post it - assist?
