Yes its that time again and this years weekend will be on the 16th May 2003 ie the weekend BEFORE Spring Bank holiday and we have a new venue
Black Dog Inn
Selby Rd Camblesforth
Selby North Yorkshire
YO8 8HX

Tel: 01757 618247
Its here
They are as excited as I am to have been selected for this years revelries. There are two main rooms and a restaurant area and the food is good. Field behind with plenty of space for caravans and tents and a beer garden too. They are a real ale pub and will order in plenty of something good for the occasion. More details to follow but put it in your diary and let me know if you want to come. The more the merrier!!!

Good news! Date is in my diary.

Now, according to my Hedingham Fair calendar (thank you, Alan)
16th May is Buddha Day

Weekend of May 16th - 18th:
Moulton Village Festival, Northants,
Winchester Folk Festival.

No clashes likely there, then?

Hi Jane
Brill you are organising this ... but I am on a narrowboat trip ending on 17 May - so who says it won't clash, Noreen! But I suppose I could try to get the last day off (for good behaviour?). So I'm a definite maybe!

I'll be there at some point in the proceedings, if not for most of it. I haven't been in that pub since I was in our local's ladies' darts & dominoes team. (We lost).

Andrea

For any that may be interested, there's a ploughing match (with 'osses) up the road from it the 1st Sunday in March.

Well and there is was hoping to get one arranged for Holmfirth Folk Festival too. Next year perhaps?

Anyone coming to that will be welcome to contact me. We have a good place for it this year because the camp site has changed for this year and there is a parish hall type building that would have been nice for people - with a bar!!

Best wishes,

Just returned from the Black Dog where we had a wonderful meal and had a good chat with the landlady. They are so excited they are thinking of having a mini beer festival to mark the occasion!! Meals are about average pub price and plenty of it - I mentioned breakfasts and that should be a possibility too. No problems with well behaved dogs or goldfish (they seemed surprised we asked about that one!) Plenty of trees about to give shade Nutty.
Only one request from landlady is that we don't have barbeques on the field as she is worried about fires. Not sure why but that is her request and I can't see any problems complying.
So get it in your diaries everyone its going to be a cracking weekend!
