Very nice. I like the cat in Part 16, he looks just like the main cat in my life. But what happened to the car Part 15?

I think my favorite photo is the last in Part 20, where the young cousin is holding her and looking perfectly relaxed and satisfied at the camera. There's our hope for the future, gang-- that simplicity. God grant all our children grow up remembering what is really important-- better than we have.

Yeah--family beds, infant sleep habits, lots of good stuff in there. Mostly, it gives families permission do try things and to do what works for them. Nursing is the thing I miss most when I think back to my childrens' baby-hood. (And who would ever think of that cabbage leaf trick for mastitis on their own?)

Now the video did have the effect of sending me down memory lane, and even a brief moment of "wouldn't it be nice to have a baby around"... then the background noise of the horde kicked in... Max, since Emily is a first-timer at this, you might want to get her a copy of this book. It's simply the best source of information out there (in concert with your local La Leche League folks). Goes into a lot more than just nursing. Glad to see everything is going so well!

If any one is bothered?! Too bad if they are! Thank you, Max, the video is great! Emily was so calm, esp. for a first timer and you did a great job. LilyAni is going to love seeing all of the telemetry of her last night in the salty, wet darkness and then all of those indignities after! She is a doll and boy, she's got a good set of lungs...she'll do real well singing 'dem blues like her proud paw-pa! Would love to see a picture of Emily holding her, too, when you get time.

Sorcha, made me all teary-eyed, too....remembering when...LilyAni looked so little in Max's arms until I remembered my last one only weighed half that when I brought her home! We had to buy doll clothes for her!:-)

All what time? Notice the giant lapses in time in the video. I was simply filming when she didn't need me. Besides, there is some MammaCam action near the end where Emily is filming me.

Some more pictures should be online soon. If anyone is bothered by them as a part of Mudcat, please just ignore them, I send friends and family there too. Pene is kind enough to use his system to help me with this, so it works out real nice and the turnaround time is pretty quick. When I get the time, I'll move most of them to another site.

And thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts, we're having a ball here.

It has been quite a few years since mine were small and nursing, but I could practically feel the let down when she cried. Her mother's voice was always very calm--best advice I ever had from a total stranger was when my oldest was three days old and in for her first doctor's checkup. A woman passing by admired her, then commented "A calm mother has a calm child." So Lili Ani is already on her way to a mellow childhood!

It took a couple of tries to see the movie all the way through (timed out the first time). At the very end Max is holding a quiet and very neatly swaddled Lili Ani. A good trick, swaddling!
