If somebody from across the pond would be so kind, I need a translation from English to Welsh of the following phrase:

Guardians of the Holy Wood

Thanks

Here's a try:
Gwarcheidwadau'r coed sanctaidd

gooarchh-hide wadd eye'r coid sank tithe ('wadd' is like 'bad')
put the emphasis on the wadd and sank syllables
Cheers

Thanks,

I have a pregnant Female Corgi (why did I think I had to write female?) and was looking for a name for our kennel. I'm afraid that the translation is a little more than a mouthful and not as poetic as I had thought it might be.

I guess I'll keep looking, any suggestions?

Translation is often a lot more than word-to-word replacement. It might help to know the context. There are a couple of words for 'guardian' and a couple for 'wood'. You could go for Ceidwaid y Glangoed (or possibly Gwyngoed), or Gwarchodwyr y Gwy^dd Sanctaidd or other 'mixes'.

Thanks for the link to the Gelert story. I hadn't heard it before. It really illustrates how we hurt those we love most while jumping to conclusions. I'll raise a glass to his memory (be he real or just fable)and consider using his name for our "Stables" (Mounts for the fairy folk don't ya know!). I've been interested in Welsh lore since reading "The Book of Three". It was just luck that brought me together with my Corgis as we were actually looking for a bulldog. Once we had one "Errin's Little Man Sparky" (Sparky) we just had to get a female to complete the pair. She's named "Momma's Bayou Voodoo Queen" (Voodoo)(We currently are assigned in Louisiana in case you were wondering where we came up with that name). Even though we shouldn't we've already started thinking up names for the pups. Merlin, Gandalf, Gris (from Gris Gris which is a "spell"), Lady Marie LeBeaux (Voodoo Queen of New Orleans), Gypsy, Jynx, and Mojo.

By the way You know how more than a few geese are a gaggle?
More than one Corgi is a Chaos (at least as far as I'm concerned)(and I'm loving every minute of Chaos!)
