Subject: Tech: Small, inexpensive PA system From: PaulBobbyBuzz Date: 10 May 04 - 10:15 AM We're looking for the least costly way to amplify our Preacher's voice during his sermon. Our "church" is a small converted barn, and there is usually a small number of folks in attendance. We have virtually no budget, so the cost will be covered by contributions. It doesn't need to be high-tech or anything like that. I have seen some small units that sit right on a shelf of the podium, and wattage output does not need to be much. Any suggestions? Thanks. pbb |

However, and maybe I'm dreaming, but I'm thinking of the type of unit I see sometimes at American Legion posts, and service clubs, that is just a very small unit, that sits on a shelf of their podium, and almost looks like a CB radio-type gizmo. Also, we REALLY NEED to keep the cost down, maybe under $100. Am I asking too much?? Thanks pbb |

I have the Fender Passport 250 but they make a smaller, cheaper 150 Model that that would probably work for sermons and basic music. I think it's more than $100 but if you check the classifieds or e-bay you might find one.... |

If you check out ebay, you can get a small voice amplification unit for around $59.00. The unit has a belt and can be worn around the waist. These are small, but good for the money. |
