any help in translating the following would be greatly appreciated we think it could be catalonian but we are not sure

Idil-li

Vinguda és ja la dolça primavera,

passa l'hivern amb sos cruels

rigors

rumbeja als brots l'arbreda

falaguera,

valls i muntanyes, valls i muntanyes

s'han cobert de flors.

No és veritat, oh dolça

aimada mia,

que tot mirant et cel pur i seré,

al contemplar com va

morint el dia

tu ploraries, tu ploraries sens

saber perquè.

many thanks in advance

Gerry

I'd guess it's more likely Occitane (which is quite closely related to Catalan), and probably an old form of that.

The following is in Spanish and it may help with your quest for the language of the song.

Idi-li
Joan Altisent (1891-1971)

I can't even get things to turn blue. And that's despite repeated tutorials from a few 'catters. Thank you.

Sweet springtime has come, cruel rigours of winter are passing
Seductive plants are showing their buds, valleys and mountains are covered with flowers
Is it not true, my sweet loved one, that when you'll look at the pure and clear sky
When you will see he way the day is dying, you will cry without knowing why?

Luigi
