I was so pleased to get 21 valentines from all those mudcat women; then I learned that my evil wife and her evil twin (Sinsull) had to bribe them to send them! Then after reading the warm lovely messages they wrote in them, I find myself back in the friggin' cellar where it's too dark to read anymore that might come late!

There were no bribes. We all wanted to cheer you up after your last check-up. And you are in the basement to build shelves - Jacqui and I went shopping today. Evil twin? More like Mutt and Jeff. If you like I will send Alice down to keep you company. Happy Valentine's Day Captain.

By the way, I didn't send a card. I bought a stuffed toy from hell that repeats "I love you" ad nauseum in a cutesy little voice. Poor catspaw - the store had only one and Kendall got it.

Yeah, Kat. Me too. Caroline was gonna pick up something in adequately bad taste, but she forgot, so I just sent him an E-pistle of my own hoping he was inundated with Valentine's Day cards. I think the card score was up to 24 when he replied, not counting little stuffed toys that squeal love lyrics. With gals like Jacqui and Sinsull working in collaboration, the poor ol' Cap'n ain't got a chance!

The Valentines are all struck to the kitchen door and we will be taking a photo to put in the Mudcat gallery.

I didn't forget, but I lost the TRULY tasteless one I found early in the month (hint: it was framed in red feathers). So I had to settle for one with a nautical theme.
