Pics here

The folks at Yahoos Tenor Guitar discussion group are pretty sure it's from the late 60s-early 70s... I'll be putting this on eBay with a 250 reserve on it, as per the discussion groups suggestion, plus shipping... But I thought I'd let you virtual folkers here know first, cause even though I don't play it, it's a nice little beast, and I'd prefer to see it in good hands... And I'm open to bartering

Comes with crummy strap, and small Kyser capo (might actually be their 'banjo capo')

:-)

Way, way over priced at $250.00

Barely considered vintage or collectible.

Not according to the folks at the discussion group... and I'd tend to trust them over you any day...

You shouldn't. I am non-biased and a vintage guitar collector. But one of them from that tenor group might buy it. When someone is obsessed with the ridiculous, anything goes.

Tenor guitars have very little interest except the Martins for Kingston Trio freaks. Harmonys tenors are flea market specials.

No one else seems to be noticing or caring, Clinton, due to the overwhelming reply here.

I just might watch your ebay auction and make some comments as it plays out.

Don`t worry Clinton, there might be people who like tenors, may they be Kingston trio fans or short-fingered musical halfwits like me who are happy with the 2 strings less. Unfortunately I am too far away and happy with my tenor banjo.
Good luck
Ernest

Hi Clinton,

I noticed this a work today but I couldn't invest the time to reply on the company dime.

Tell me more about it if you can. Scale length, string gauge, the like....

For guy like me with damaged fingers a tenor can be just the ticket.

Don

Ummm... just to be sure I grok, scale length... the length from nut to saddle right???

String guage... man it's been so long since I put these on, I don't know that I'd remember... I seem to recall they came outa a pack of Marting light guage guitar strings... but that might just have been a dream...

Actually, Clinton, if the guitar has a serial number in it, the serial number on old Harmony's incorporates the year it was made in it. If you can look inside the guitar, I can probably tell you for sure which part of the serial number is year identifier and which part is the model number.

But, your Tenor yahoo boys should have been able to tell you that, experts that they are, of course. Of course, it could be a Japanese Harmony starting from the early '70s after Harmony went broke here in Chicago and sold the name to an exporter in Japan. Then you would have one that could have wood quality that is fine for serving sushi on.

But, heaven forbid you tell me these things for fear that I might give you a real appraisal out of the kindness of my heart.

Just saw this.

Will that be $250 Cdn, Clinton? I don't need it personally, but a student or two might be interested. Cool item, btw.

Peace, Mooh.

It has a case with it... sorry... forgot to mention that... just a cruddy black-covered, cardboard case...

I'm thinking more like 250 US... simply because that's the consensous on value I was given...

But as I said, I'm also open to bartering...

:-)

From: GUEST,Mike Venable

I'm trying to sell my 1930s walnut finish tenor guitar. It's in pretty good shape the finish on the back is a little scratched but the neck is straight and it plays like it would have in the 1930s If your interested email me at michaeljvenable@yahoo.com I can send you a couple pictures if you want.
