Subject: BS: Congratulations Lady Penelope and Parker From: Liz the Squeak Date: 30 Jul 05 - 04:46 PM I'm pleased to announce to the world (and probably really annoy them) that Lady Penelope and her Parker have made it official. Yesterday morning, I was proud and honoured (if a little surprised) to act as witness to their marriage. They've actually been together for nearly 2 decades so it came as a great relief to several parents and other relatives. The bride looked wonderful in a tasteful dark green and black dress, with silver jewellery, the groom was equally splendid in a black and white ensemble. Congratulations Lady Penelope and Parker... and thank you for allowing me to share in your special day. LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Congratulations Lady Penelope and Parker From: Amos Date: 30 Jul 05 - 04:51 PM Liz, I am confused. I thought these guys were fictional characters!? Was I wrong? I have no objection to fictional characters getting wed, even in secret; but then what happens? A |

Subject: RE: BS: Congratulations Lady Penelope and Parker From: Liz the Squeak Date: 30 Jul 05 - 04:53 PM Lady Penelope is a Mudcatter, known in person to several people here. Parker is her 'silent' partner (he's not a Mudcat devotee, but a bloody good bloke for all that). I'm sorry, I should have made it clearer. And as for your question... presumably they try and get a pink People Carrier?! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Congratulations Lady Penelope and Parker From: Amos Date: 30 Jul 05 - 05:22 PM I'm the one who should apologize, I suppose!! I had them mixed up with that other lot who occasionally try to resurrect the 1920's. Ah, well, I have enough trouble keeping up with my own side of the darn pond!! Congrats to Lady P and her "silent partner"! A |

Although I only saw Lady Pen (and can vouch for her existance) once last week, it was delightful to meet you and I wish you and your husband long life and happiness! Subject: RE: BS: Congratulations Lady Penelope and Parker From: lady penelope Date: 31 Jul 05 - 01:58 PM Thank you for your kind words, even Amos who doesn't think I exist :) (actually, you're not alone Amos, there are quite a few people that don't believe I exist and some who wish I didn't, but there you go....) Parker and I have been together for 16 years and finally decided that we quite liked each other, so what the hey....? My father did express his dissaproval at "these long engagements" but was more than happy when we told him he didn't have to pay for the reception....... TTFN Lady P. |
