The Scotsman thought for a moment and then clinched the argument. "No, it's a Scottish cow - it's got bagpipes underneath!" -------------------------------------------------------------------- I hear you're a great believer in free speech.' 'I am that, Angus. Subject: RE: Bull, Barton, Beds - Jan 06 things From: breezy Date: 06 Jan 06 - 04:49 AM Will catch up with guru at the Dave Bryant wake next Saturday. I knew dave back in the late 60s when he took South London by storm He came to Harpenden in 1999 and sang at the Silver Cup , then I had him do a spotlight 2 years ago. A true character, very knowledgeable and lived life to the full. His Avril Betts stunt will long be remembered here on the cat His version of Fiddlers Green I will always recall, cos it took an age to sing. A big voice , Gilbert and Sullivan , stuff like that, no P A required when he was around. |

Caller for the evening is the delightful and experienced SHEENA MASSON. From an early age Sheena has built an enviable reputation as both a versatile dance musician and ceilidh caller. She works extensively with, among others, bands Peeping Tom and Stömp. She is also a member of the new eclectic dance band Stocai, and is a popular and versatile caller at festivals and clubs throughout the country. Good songs and time to chat to folk. He even remembered meeting my friend's cousin in a gig in Canada and talking to him in a similar setting! That's amazing considering the hundreds of people he meets on tours. It was genuine too as he accurately described him and his work.Impressed. |
