When we speak of material Thinghood , have we not tacitly posited a kind of Being - the constant presence-at-hand of Things - which is so far from having been rounded out ontologically by subsequently

Rapaire, I'd like to see a collage of figures, each with its own colour but overlapping other figures, each clearly defined and visible from a certain angle perhaps or maybe glowing sequentially.

I used to apologize but found it to be too much trouble. Besides, how many ways can you say "I'm sorry" without sounding repetitious? Now if anyone wants me to apologize I just punch 'em out. Saves all that hanging around, waiting for them to throw the first punch. Premptive, ya know? Just the other day I got stopped by a cop and he told me to apologize and he'd only give me a warning for doing 124 mph in a schoolyard, so I just punched him out. Simple, really. Now I'm hiding up in the hills, running from the cops and the posse. That's the other thing. Nobody today seems to have a sense of humor. I remember a sense of humor, back in the days of "Francis The Talking Mule" and "Ma and Pa Kettle" movies. Now, those were funny. Not like the stuff you have today, stuff like "Geech and Chong" or "Firestone Theatre" or "Saturday Night Life" and things. Why can't they bring back Francis and maybe pair him up with Mr. Ed? Now, you gotta admit that that would be funny, a talking horse and a talking mule. And while there at it they could combine the Beverly Hillbillies with Ma and Pa Kettle, and maybe Hee-Haw with the Dukes of Hazzard and that show with Barney Fife. But nobody listens to my suggestions anyway, like that cop I was telling you about. I made a suggestion to him just before I punched him out, but he sort of took umbrage at the suggestions. Which is why I'm living up in the hills.

Dredges are important. I was out on the Mississippi river once, in early October during the week, when we broke a shear pin in the outboard motor. We were able to paddle to a sandbar made by a dredge and got ashore. Finally we found the remains of some welding rod, with which we were able to create a temporary shear pin and get back.*

Dredges are important. Without dredges I might still be out on the Mississippi, living with my friends on a sandbar, surviving on beer and catfish, trying to get to shore. Instead, I live in Idaho.















*The next Spring the owner of the boat took it out fishing and hit an submerged log. My friend had forgot to mention to his father that we'd had to use welding rod for a shear pin, and welding rod is a LOT tougher than the soft bronze of the correct shear pin. In short, the clutch of the motor broke and his father had to paddle five MILES against the Spring current of the Mississippi River to get back. That's five MILES of paddling with a board, not a paddle or an oar. He wasn't in a very good mood after that....
