OK - he spoke - for those in on the contest the first words were "What's for lunch?".

It had to be a subject close to the Captain's heart I suppose.....

The voice is there but very weak right now and a bit croaky. I think that's to be expected given what has been done to the equipment.

Oh, and we have been having that raised eyebrow a numnber of times since the op- it certainly speaks volumes!

He still hasn't spoken - he really is quite worried about whether he will have any voice.

For the moment it's probably not a bad thing - it will give the area more time to heal, but, at some point I'm going to have to really piss him off and make him say something. Either that or find him a difficult repair job to do and then the first word will be "goddamitsumbitch!"

I will keep you informed of any progress.

HeHeHe - Ken-doll, you'll be taking a bit of ribbing for the ear, I think. I know you've probably put you hand to your ear at some point to hear how flat you sound when you sing. Don't be offened if one of us asks you when you get back to warbbling if you'll kindly shove a finger down your throat so as not to be so sharp while singing, we all love that dull edge. If you're not up to singing in a weeks time, I got the cure, come to the shanty session with the gals next week & they can haul you around by the ear & you can fill in the parts that need those little yelps, you'll be like a reborn again Stan Hugill.
