I'd like a t-shirt, please Eric. Size XL - I like them far too big for my slim body.

Yorkshire Yankee, glad to hear you you are able to make it. If the train option is the one, then I'll have a Skipelf pick you up from Hull9, or advise you on the buses across the Bridge (It's the biggest bridge in Hull9). Do the fine-tuning by PM (including moby number if you have one of those ghastly modern contrivances) and I'll see to it.

Regarding accomodation boasting 240 volts, Mooman tells me that Doo Ron Ron and Glen can't make it this year (because Glen is succeeding Romano Prodi or summat), so the rheum over the road from here offered by the rolling-pin wielding Mrs Styles is officially free for rent.

Jane and Geoff Duck have told me that it is unlikely they will be able to make it, so there's no need to reply on that one.

I am now entering the panic zone well known to all previous MudEuroGather organisers, even the cool head of Wolfgang.

Any more T shirt orders please? I shall be starting to hunt for a reasonable supplier this week. So Tuesday will be the latest date. I shall check prices etc first and then post. If anyone finds them expensive or they are cheap enough to encourage you, then please let me know ASAP.

Thanks.

Hi,

Although I'm fairly new to Mudcat, I am hoping to attend -- would love to meet some of the faces that go with the names & posts I've been seeing/reading.

For health reasons, I need to sleep in a space that has an electrical outlet; I'm figuring one of the B&B's is my best bet at this point, but am hoping there might be one (or 2 or 3) others who might be interested in sharing a room, which would help keep the individual costs down. (Please PM me if you're interested.)

I'll be coming from Sheffield, and would be happy to give a lift to anyone else coming from there (or thereabouts). Fibula Mattock -- if your other arrangements don't work out for some reason, let me know; you could get a train to Sheffield & I could take you from there.

(On the other hand, if there's someone from Sheffield already planning to drive, I'm quite happy to ride (if you have space) & contribute to petrol costs.)

If I turn out to be the *only* one coming from the Sheffield area, then I'll probably try to get a train to Hull -- if some kind soul could be persuaded to give me a lift from Hull to the site of the actual gathering.

BTW, had the pleasure of meeting the Ducks this weekend (at the Barnsley Folk Festival -- great singing!); we were talking about the Euro Gathering & I mentioned I'd seen their names on the list above -- with a question mark. I expect one of them will prolly come post here eventually, but I can tell you now that other things have come up and they are not planning to attend at this point.

Cheers,

YY

Only 3 weeks to wait!

I wish you all a happy Easter weekend!

(for us here in Germany, a very long weekend: Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays, so I have 4 days without going to work!)

Dave - not a word from Wolfgang so far. I suppose he's busy winding up his extra job of representing the university in some official capacity, and will surface again when he's finished with that. I will turn up outside his door (showing off my new metallic blue Opel car!) on the night of Thursday, 29 Apr, and see what happens.

As to the T-shirts - sorry, I've got one already and found I'm not the right shape for it ...

The farmer told me to feck off and buy my own four by four Mitsuhonda Landcrab, but he was a little irritable as he had just walked ten miles to perform violin music as light entertainment for a pub full of mirthful guitarists.

T shirts for;Andy, Richard, Greg, Eric, Fibs, Oaklet,Terry K, Wilfried, Doug. Anyone else?

I have no idea of cost yet, and am waiting to see if there are more takers before I find a printer. They may be around £10.00 or less I hope. I don't expect to pay more than that. I've started putting out feelers and asking around. Is £10.0 too much? To litle or just about right. Some places will do "one offs" I gather, so 10 would not be a problem. More would probably be better.

By the way Skip, how did the farmer feel about hiring out his horse and cart for the tour of Hull?

Linda and I are hoping to arrive on Friday afternoon bringing Susanne and Wolfgang with us - that's if emanations of curry fumes and spurious 9's from the other side of the Humber don't interfer with our GPS navigation system. Btw Susanne/Wolfgang - have you two found out what time (UK BST) that we'll need to pick you up from Stansted Airport ? At least the fact that we've got a fairly full car means that we've got an excuse for not giving Avril Betts a lift up :-)). I assume that we'll be able to put the caravan (and the tent for Susanne) on the previously mentioned camping field.

I have been found. I had a delightful loss of bearings in the bog, and wandered into Co Galway for a bit. Back home now, and back down to business. I have just been talking on the electric telephone with Mrs Macdonald at King's Well
and she still has several rooms available for the Eurogathering, so anyone still unbooked and desirous of a modicom of luxury could do worse than ringing the redboubtable Mrs McDonald forthwith. So there.

We have an excellent emerging design, designed by number one son on the back of an old (not his) fag packet at the session last night. Where His Oiliness the Pop blew everyone away with his turbocharged electrified big bass end on his aerophone. Despite the fact that he was sitting on the amplifier and really enjoying the new found freedom of the vibrations,he played brilliantly, smiling all the time, especially on the low notes. Howard Stern-watch out.

You're right. The T-shirts are 57 pence each which, because of the current high state of sterling, equates to €57 each.

How dare you Sir. I have not been creaming off the profits from the lost Sirlard. This is an afront to my honesty. I am well known as an honest peasant of this land. The fact that he has lost himself, just means he is now on a voyage of self discovery (again) and will emerge dripping as fresh as a butter-fly.No, don't blame me that his compass is upside down, his oil cooling mechanism faulty and his bearings running hot!I only told him to keep heading west until he came to what looks like a very big river and to then start swimming until he reached "the other side". (He fell for it-I guess) Now for my inheriatnce.

Welcome all peasants to the republic of Grease. Noble friends elect me as your leader. I promise equality and fairness. Beatings only on a Sunday, unless deserved otherwise.

My first proclamation; All future gatherings will be held on the most inconvenient date for everyone, at the opposite end of the world, furthest from the nearest other folk event.

Oh...... I think I hear him returning!

Sorry your Lardship. I was only oiling the wheels of commerce for you in your abstinence. Ouch, (go to go now)

And now, the T shirts.
It has been the custom (Started in Belgium by Richard) for a T shirt to comemmorate the gathering. The design decided by the skill or lack of it (in this case) by the host. The cost, at cost price-not known yet. The size, determined by the body wearing or wanting it.

So, who is going to want a T shirt?

Money up front please with order, when price determined (This will probably be based on the supplier and printer and decided by the numbers required) There is no profit for anyone except the printers they are ordered from.

Please get back to me.pm me if you wish. (By the way, part of the slogan has been decided by some lovely young thing already, who shall be nameless-Do you remember Kate?-Opps sorry),

Time is a running by...
