Subject: RE: Yorkshire Gathering 2004 From: Tig Date: 20 May 04 - 05:08 PM Gather badges are printed - now all Badger has to do is get them made up :-). |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire Gathering 2004 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 20 May 04 - 05:00 PM Nearly forgot to mention the raffle! All donations very welcome - Little Duckling will be in charge of extorting money from you with menaces! |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire Gathering 2004 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 20 May 04 - 04:35 PM Well only 24 hours to go (or less). Final round up of knickers and instruments, throat lozenges etc. Rough outline of the weekend will be as follows Friday night Arrive and pitch tents, park vans etc. Catch up with old friends and new over a few pints accompanied by singing and music. Saturday Morning Breakfasts available in the pub from 9ish until about 10ish (Forgot to ask price but seem to recall it was a bloody good feed last year and around £4 including toast tea and coffee) Sit and soak up the sunshine or play a few tunes, sing a few songs to gently wake up the world. Adventurous could take a walk around the area (there is some sort of nature reseve fairly close) or even drive into Selby and look at the minster or shops. Afternoon At some point there will be an old time american session tunes and songs in the gazebo (no not the one over the toilet!) and no doubt others will continue the singing and playing either in the bar or if weather is fine (and it WILL be) outside on the campsite. Later in the afternoon Liz will treat us to her version of Have we got bollocks for you!' or something like that BBQ will be at around 6 and the Black Dog staff will be cooking burgers, sausages, chicken etc. to buy. Evening Singaround in the darts bar - lots of good chorus numbers hopefully. Music session in the other bar As the night wears on we will gather together in the darts bar and have a mixed session with a few tunes followed by a few songs etc. It will be possible to use the gazebo for music up until closing time but after that we are better inside so as not to upset neighbours. Sunday Morning Breakfasts will again be available from 9 - 10 after which they need to set up for Sunday lunches so don't be late! Big sing in the bar - roll out some of those rousing anthems Afternoon Survivors sessions until everyone departs. Those having Sunday lunch are requested to hang on until around 2.30 to give kitchen staff time to cope. The pub also does an excellent range of food throughout the day. The Yorkshire gathering has always been something of an informal affair and the above is only a rough timetable although you will get fed!!! The main point of the weekend is to enjoy so look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow - we can't get there until around 5ish so if you get there sooner just make yourselves known to Gary and Tracy (Black Dog landlord and landlady) and they will do their best to help you. Can't wait. Jane |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire Gathering 2004 From: Geoff the Duck Date: 20 May 04 - 11:39 AM Raggy - I suggest you try the former option first. Once you have seen the undertaker, it can be a bit late to change your mind and ask for the doctor instead! Quack! GtD. |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire Gathering 2004 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 20 May 04 - 07:11 AM Does that mean you'll have one erected in the boot that you made earlier? |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire Gathering 2004 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 18 May 04 - 06:22 PM I'm afraid Manitas has had to cry off... he's having some tests done next week and the pills they gave him have the suggestion 'you may prefer to stay near the toilet' and as the A1 isn't really blessed with facilities every 20 mins, it's best he stays home. Besides he can look after the cat who is even more poorly. LTS |
