There is no mention of a mayor talking to a cat owning lady anywhere. hence my preference for commenting on the former. |

Then look out. He was 6'5", 240 pound football player. Anyway, he was in Iowa visiting his girlfriend's parents. He got a call saying he had a telegram and could he go pick it up in town--which was about 50 miles away. Either that, or they'd mail it to him. He went to get it. It read, "Dear XXXXX, please ignore first telegram. Everything OK." Then three of us signed it. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyway, months later we found out he was back in town and looking for the three people who'd signed the telegram. It was the car crash that got one of the fellows so upset. Sheesh. One of the guys went to the store to get provisions. He called to say he'd put a minor dent in xxx's car. Then he left town for about two months. Anyway, I don't want to bore you with this stuff. It all took place between January 2 and 7. Things got rowdy, rough and very strange shortly thereafter. |

We blamed a fourth guy who wasn't at the party. |
