Peace, your P.M. confused me. I just answered it thinking Ron Stevens was actually you all this time we've both been posting here at Mudcat. Anyhow, Ron, I just sent a personal message back to Peace thinking it was you I was talking to. Ron, ---- sure I remember you. I tie you in, for some reason, with Art Rosenbaum. Maybe it was the time in the 1970s we brought Art Rosenbaum in to do a benefit with a bunch of us on the show---for Sing Out! magazine. As I recall it, Phil Ochs was on the show too---and Malvena Reynolds; and Marjorie Guthrie was there too for some reason. George Robinson was the manager of the Quiet Knight either before or after you were in that position. Mike Urschel was there then also. I recently saw Richard Harding at the Memorial gathering for Fred Holstein a while back--at the Old Town School Of Fake Music. It is real strange but the best reunions lately all take place at the wakes for friends.------ I remember, also, you having quite strong opinions on folk music---ones I generally shared too--but you seemed angrier than I was... Still, here at Mudcat I get called a "Folk Nazi" sometimes for saying like it was in our times. As a result, I am here less and less now.---- And you were married to Judy, right?! A lovely girl! I asked the rest of the family what they wanted for my birthday dinner and that was it.....they know what the old man really wants. And for the past two weeks the family has included Michael......at home and doing great........at least for now. We're all working hard to keep things together and so is Mike at this point. Its been a long and tough year with highs and lows and much crying and sadness but we've worked our way to this point and maybe we can keep working through it all one day at a time. We've had some fantastic people with us along the way and they all feel the possibilities are good. He's pretty much just "teen-ager" at the moment, albeit goth and emo, but still pretty normal in many ways. We are certainly one helluva' lot further along then we were and he is soooooooo much better......a different kid in many ways. We'll take the future as it comes. Which leaves me wanting to tell you how important and vital and supportive you have been. Many on this thread have been in regular communication and sending us their best thoughts and prayers and whatever else is to be had. I've been here 10 years and I can't begin to list all the many times that folks here have been there when we needed them........and I have had more than a fair share of need. Karen and I both want to thank you for all you've done these many years but especially in this past one......the roughest of our lives. I haven't been on as much this past year but perhaps I'll be on a bit more down the road. Then again, can Walky take more of me than he already has? Thanks for being here............
