That's a fair explanation -- I've sent you what I've got via email.

Many thanks to both of you!

Regarding the nature of the release - it's the work of the same fan group who have previously put together the DVD releases of Jake's BBC appearances. Everything officially licensed, Jake's estate compensated appropriately, and anyone who helps with sources will be credited if they're happy to be. This particular project is in its early stages at the moment and nothing's likely to emerge for a while, largely because of the amount of legwork involved in researching sources and arranging licensing. But I'm confident it will happen. My personal role is fairly tangential, I'm just lending a hand sniffing out tapes because I enjoy that sort of thing.

Happy to discuss further by email!

Mark

Hi Mark, I have a few songs I can contribute (from Alan W. -- see this thread). All are taped off radio from the late 70s/early 80s, but an exact date and station is not known to me. Songs include:
- La-Di-Da
- The Bantam Cock
- The Remembrance/On Again (medley?)
- The Bull

Before I do contribute, could we get some clarification on the nature of this 'official' release? If you'd prefer to keep it under tighter wraps, feel free to respond asking me to email, but I figured it may be a question others would have.

I have "Arthur Wilkinson", "The bantam cock", "The tounge of a woman" and "Last will" recorded from the radio in 1982. These may have been part of Folk on 2 programs or from a program immediately following Folk on 2.
I will email you seperately.

Robin

Subject: Appeal for Jake Thackray radio sessions
From: GUEST,Mark
Date: 19 Feb 25 - 08:45 AM

Hello,

I'm currently attempting to track down any off-air recordings of radio appearances by Jake Thackray, for a planned official release.

Jake made over 100 radio appearances between the '60s and the '90s, but an awful lot of them are missing from the archives, so we're currently trying to source whatever unofficial recordings might be out there. Our hitlist is too long to go into here, but particular shows we'd love to find include:

- Ralph McTell & Friends, Radio 2 - 10th October 1982 and 12th Aug 1983
- Midweek / Start the Week - multiple appearances on Radio 4, circa 1986-88
- Night Ride, Radio 1 - 6th Nov 1969

But as I say, there are loads more!

If you can help in any way, please drop me an email - mark DOT sturdy AT aol DOT com. Thank you!
