Borra Da Michael, Check out next years Maritime Song Festival in Cobh, Cork. He appeared at last years session to great acclaim. I'm sure that if it happens again he'll be there, at least I hope so. It was on in June.

Tommy was due to organise some sort of festival come cummer-school at the Ti Chuhulainn, a splendid new arts centre in Mullaghbawn earlier this year. Whether it occurred or not I don't know. Over to you John Moulden.

Well Michael, Here's a link to Willie Clancy's story.http://www.irishmusicweb.ie/texts/clancy.w.html The festival in his memory is held every July (not sure of date) in Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare. Lots of Music & Craic. I was there a few years ago. The second weekend was so crowded it was hard to get into the pubs. However, during the week, I was able to hear people like Sharon Shannon, Johnny Leary, Brendan Begly (& that's just a few of the box players) playing in pub sessions. PS, don't go if you like to go to bed early!!!! Eddie

Eddie,

You may well be right. I reckon it's odds on you are.
May you always walk in sunshine.
Okay then, *grinning*, anyone know anything of the Willie Clancy festival in Clare?

Mike

ps I know it's in July.

Michael, Are you perhaps thinking of the WILLIE CLANCY festival, in Clare every July? I've been away for a good few years, but return regularly. I haven't heard of a Liam Clancy festival, I I think someone in the family, knowing my musical tastes, would have told me; unless it is very new. Regards, Eddie

Hi,

Anyone know anything of a Liam Clancy festival in Ireland? Where? When? Anything?
I checked the forum but couldn't see any thread relating to a past festival. Have I been mis-informed? Do my ears need de-waxing?

Mike
