Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Pentangle b-side singles From: Bassic Date: 09 Jun 03 - 04:23 AM Yes, was Renaissance that I was thinking about. There are CD`s of the "BBC Sessions" and most of the tunes I remember seem to have come from no later than 1978. "Take 3 Girls" starred Lisa Goddard as violinist Victoria, Susan Jameson as actress Kate, and Angela Down as art student Avril. The series ran from 1969 to 1971 with four more episodes being recorded in 1982 under the title "Take three women" with the same cast. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Pentangle b-side singles From: GUEST,Marie Date: 07 Jun 03 - 02:13 PM RolyH, Did you post those lyrics from your 'Light Flight'/'Cold mountain' single??? If it's the case(and while we're at it!...)can I also have the lyrics of 'Light Flight',then?!.. PLEEAAASE!!! :-) Masato, Those two songs have been released as bonus tracks on the '2001' CD (produced by Sanctuary Records Group Ltd)... Bassic, I don't think, indeed, that your memory serves you right with regards to Pentangle...but, at the same time, I've no idea of what Renaissance did in the mid 70' as I only have their first three albums... :-) Marie |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Pentangle b-side singles From: Bassic Date: 06 Jun 03 - 09:59 PM If memory serves me correctly, I think they were the first, or one of the first groups to do the "Sight and Sound in Concert" simulcast series on the BBC. Taking advantage of Stereo broadcast facilities on VHF radio. Sound on VHF stereo BBC Radio (1or2?) and visuals in Mono on BBC 2 TV. I remember (audio) taping it at the time, (definatly pre video). Two tracks I remember were "Ocean Gypsy" and "Mother Russia". Am I correct? Would have been mid 70`s. |

Subject: Lyr Add: COLD MOUNTAIN (trad. arr. Pentangle) From: RolyH Date: 06 Jun 03 - 05:09 PM COLD MOUNTAIN (trad. arr. Pentangle) Cold mountains they are all around me Cold waters rolling down the stream Oft in my sleep I think I see you But when I wake it's just a dream I've often thought, I've often wondered What makes young women love young men They're like the stars on a summer morning First they appear and then they're gone I'd rather be in some God holler Where the sun don't ever shine Than to see you with another And know you never would be mine I've wandered down your lonesome highways I've chased the stars most of my days I'm going back to East Virginia The place where I was born and raised Cold mountains they are here around me Cold waters rolling down the stream Oft in my sleep I think I see you But when I wake it's just a dream B side of the 'Light Flight' single (who remembers 'Take Three Girls').
