"I saw an Angel" (found on the CD version of Pentangle's "Basket of Light")???

Yes, was Renaissance that I was thinking about. There are CD`s of the "BBC Sessions" and most of the tunes I remember seem to have come from no later than 1978. "Take 3 Girls" starred Lisa Goddard as violinist Victoria, Susan Jameson as actress Kate, and Angela Down as art student Avril. The series ran from 1969 to 1971 with four more episodes being recorded in 1982 under the title "Take three women" with the same cast.

Those two songs have been released as bonus tracks on the '2001' CD (produced by Sanctuary Records Group Ltd)...

I don't think,indeed,that your memory serves you right with regards to Pentangle...but, at the same time, I've no idea of what Renaissance
did in the mid 70' as I only have their first three albums... :-)

If memory serves me correctly, I think they were the first, or one of the first groups to do the "Sight and Sound in Concert" simulcast series on the BBC. Taking advantage of Stereo broadcast facilities on VHF radio. Sound on VHF stereo BBC Radio (1or2?) and visuals in Mono on BBC 2 TV. I remember (audio) taping it at the time, (definatly pre video). Two tracks I remember were "Ocean Gypsy" and "Mother Russia". Am I correct? Would have been mid 70`s.
