The tune of this Irish Gaelic song is usually sung now as the mountains of morn and bendemeer stream. In 1957 Alan Lomax was in Ireland and collected some songs including this one. Just a few years ago i was watching a document about Alan Lomax coming to Ireland in 1957.
He met up with lots of groups and singers including Mary O'hara and that was when i first heard it. I did not know the tune was farmilliar. from joe.
